I don’t see a great difference between Bottas and Perez’s performance. Relatively Bottas is closer to Hamilton than Perez is too Verstappen. The difference is that this year the Red Bull has an edge over the competition.

I understand why you think that, but for me Perez has had less off days than Bottas so far from what I can see. Plus he’s the best at looking after tyres

no way Perez lets himself get used like this but if he signed with Merc for next season then that would really mess with RB.
could you imagine? RB's response would have to be somewhere between dismissing Perez immediately to shutting him out from Max's side of the garage. either way, their hope of winning the constructors this year would take a major hit. and it might even screw them even more for next season as they dont have a replacement (well a replacement that Marko likes ) as evidenced by the fact they went outside of their program this year to find Max a new partner. i suppose they could sign Bottas but then Bottas' unwillingness to play number 2 becomes RB's problem so again advantage Merc. if Toto really wants to mess with Horner, this would be a brilliant way of doing it! |

Sorry to go off on a tangent here with a post about something else.
When Lewis praised Lando's driving during the race was I the only one who had the thought cross their mind that this could be Lewis playing political games? I think it was mentioned in the TV coverage that a number of Mercedes Big-Wigs were there this weekend and hearing this comment from the World Champion may help de-stabilise George Russell's chances of moving into the 2nd Mercedes... |

I feel sorry that Lewis seems such a lost soul and needs to keep doing F1. If you follow IG then you see all his contemporaries having good lives with families, kids and dogs. Lewis seems to wander rather aimlessly around the world meeting celeb "friends" and wearing some bizarre outfits. He doesn't seem to have a relationship, whether female or male, despite being an eligible millionaire.
He could be doing so much good in deprived communities. I remember when the GP drivers supported the London Boys Club. Surely he could put some time into doing some good works? |

I would suggest that there is a lot of show on what he "does". Look at his IG and he posts regularly so you can see where he is and what he is up to. Rarely in the UK but a lot in LA.

Its amazing how hes the only driver on the grid that comes under this kind of scrutiny. Nothing said about Vettel and his bees and bikes....a bit james may/ old man dont you think, or why dont people mention Leclercs fashion line, the fact that Max doesnt do charity work etc etc Its almost like Hamilton would have to save the world for people to be happy....actually scratch that, he could be the almighty himself and people would still pick on something. |

And that part is what surprised me of F1 and the team owners over the past 25+ years. At the point where we started having just 20 or 22 cars it seems like teams always accepted the tv income sharing where last team got 0 and winner got most. To me it would have been a great security net to have a much more even spread with last team still getting 6 to 10% of the total tv money. That would have been a no brainer for Minardi/Stoddart in the early 00s, but in the end such a ruling would have helped Arrows, Prost, Jordan, Sauber, etc up to Williams just a year or 2 ago... |

Not worked in any other sport where the American have stuck their noses in The mass of Premiership clubs owned by Americans who have been bought up under usually the NFL system have failed in the long term Always amazes me that all these right wing Americans who spend there time bashing any form of socialism seem to back it in Sports where everyone is guaranteed to make money and no one in a period is a superior side. Sport is about strongest team winning and others falling by the wayside. That’s it!Its sport and at times it’s exciting it’s usually entertaining and occasionally boring . That’s the mixture! |

Arsenal and Man Utd may not have had as much success recently as in previous times, but I wouldn't describe them as failed. Liverpool won their first title in 30 years. Crystal Palace and Burnley are established in the Premiership. Aston Villa and Leeds have returned to the top flight. |

2The premier League has nosalary cap nor equal revenue sharing. So not sure what the results of us owners in PL got to do with this 3) i did not suggest equalization of performance via a salary cap or budget cap. Dont believe in that. 4) My point was simply that i feel teams missed an opportunity by creating a security net for a bad season. Its nice that sports is about winning but the F1 teams are businesses and arrows jordan prost Minardi Williams etc all went bankrupt or had to sell because of lack of money. It should have been in Jordan's, saubers minardis etc interest to fight for different tv money distribution but dont think it ever was a big thing oh well |

Snork! Actually it is a good initiative and fair play to him and Mercedes, but I'd prefer it if it were broadened to cover all disenfranchised groups.
