Alex K I thought the same initially about vDG but Abu Dahbi was like ground hog day of last season. He has a big rep but check out the stats on last season and I think you will find that his Q performances where quite poor just like this weekend on average around P10 except for maybe Barcelona and Monza. He did alright in the last half season but in terms of real performance Monza was his only high point. The Sunday win in Spa was quite good and the Sunday win in Hungary was just lucky. Perez however seems to be a much more attacking driver who was maybe held back at Arden but anyway we will see the full picture in the next few months!
The way I see it Perez was in an inconsistant car and vDG had the benefit of an iSport car so now they are together I think the Mex/Spanish side will beat the Dutchman IMO. |

What about Grosjean? It looks he won't find a seat in F1, even as tester, but if he returns in GP2, he's the very hot favourite for the title.

Also agree on the VDG points. He had some good results tomwards the end of 2009 but I think that was in large part due to how good his team were. He spent GP2 Asia and GP2 last year saying there were problems with the car etc but since when did iSport have a poor car? Turvey and Valsecchi are driving the same Asia car as VDG did with Al Fardan last season and they are flying in it. I don't think VDG is a poor driver I just think he has the wrong attitude when he's struggling. He is quite negative. Thats why I think Perez will beat him this year as he'll cope better and he is quick. There is a lot of pressure on VDG to win it this year with Barwa in a car that VDG says 'suits his driving style' so we'll see. |

Esteban Guerrieri is considering GP2 as an option. If not, a possible move to Indy Lights could be considered...

I feel sorry for Trident. The first year they turned up, they looked like a really promising outfit. What went wrong?

No, I was talking about Guerrieri, not GutiƩrrez. But judging about GP2 filled seats, he'd better head to Americas and IndyLights...

Parente is out. He will not be racing in GP2. His sponsors have pulled the plug on the money so he will no longer be a Virgin test driver either. Such a shame. I would expect RE to confirm Clos. Grosjean has nothing to do this year, perhaps he'll go back to GP2. RE could be a good option for him.
Chandhok likely to get something in F1 so the stories say so he probably won't be racing in GP2. |

I understand Clos was visiting Virgin at Jerez this week. Any chance of an opening for him there? I know he's done a bit of testing work for Williams already so he'd be a good reserve for them in place of Parente

I thought Soucek was looking good for the Virgin reserve role? I'm glad they have been looking around for someone to replace Parente as Razia is certainly not good enough |

Well, it's not Razia's talent that's the problem. It's money
