Sadly the hybrid Porsche just stopped with a technical defect. BMW now leading with the nr. 25 Alzen/Lamy/Farfus/Muller M3 GT2.

this is so sad - I was watching an overhead helio and it kept focusing on a specific car and I had a bad feeling it was this one - well...they outlasted the highly rated Audis and Ferrari now in second...I'm quite happy with that...go Farnbacher..

If BMW clinches this one with their new M3 GT2,they'll be sending a nice salute to all GT2 contenders entered for Le Mans in a month...

I am a bit disappointed ; the technological risk is not rewarded today. The Porsche #9 is brought back on a lorry...
The performance of BMW bodes well for Le Mans though. |

And Lamy could tie Tiemann's record, right on the eve of the 24 with the Pug.
News coming via Sport1 that the Bimmer needs a gearbox change. So the story has more chapters to come. |

For finally getting the chance to follow the N24 from start to finish (for the first time) I must say this is what make endurance/sports car racing what it's all about! Unfortunate for those teams that worked so hard to see them run into trouble, but I mean the drama is incomparable!
It's been a fantastic race to watch and I can't wait for this last hour, especially hearing the Bimmer might be in trouble! I was hoping for the Audi's at the start, specifically with Stucky driving, but now I fancy the Bimmer and suddenly Ferrari's debut with Farnbacher may still have a word! What a race! |

I hope this result of Farnbacher opens the eyes at Maranello so they enter (semi) factory entries in the future.

Nary a Porsche to be seen until 6th place, and a Ferrari in 2nd, and it's not even 2012 yet!

40 minutes to go & the final chapter is still being written - BMW smoking in the pits, Ferrari to win on their debut?
This is outstanding |

Wow this is so disappointening for the Hybrid . Also a very, very bad day for Manthey and Porsche in general. But the Hybrid certainly showed its potential! It could well be the racecar of the future! New chance next month I guess?

I would say the hybrid technology proved itself - the problem was nothing to do with that.
Manthey & Porsche need to just forget this weekend. BMW & Ferrari completely defied the odds, but the real winners are anyone who has followed the race throughout the whole 24 hours - this has been a classic. |

So BMW holds on for the win and Ferrari 2nd in their first Nurburgring 24. Once again Porsche has had a major failure in a 24 hour race. This is becoming a habit. At least Audi managed a podium finish for all their problems.
