Keinosuke Taki(Honda GT project leader)'s GT report
**SUGO round review
*EPSON Nakajima won a 3rd place. They had had a hard time in the compatibility of the tire and the machine. They did the race for the first time. They took 4th place in the Qualifying round. In the race, Nakayama (1st stint) kept the position from Lotterer. Michigami (2nd stint) had the cool suit trouble.
*Mutoh and Kobayashi (ARTA, #8) showed growth. They were unskilled in passing the GT300 class. They were wasting time because they reduced speed and had passed the GT300 class. They came to be able to overtake GT300 cars with keeping their pace from Sepang round.
*What should make a special mention is Takuya Izawa(#100)'s qualifying driving.
*Because Weider (#1) had failed in the Qualifying round, they chose hard tires. In 19laps, Duval made a mistake in the breaking in 1st corner and he was overrun. And, he was bumped from behind and had tires punctured. After exchanging tires, Duval lost control and crashed into the guardrail in the pit road. And their race is over.
*KEIHIN (#17) finished in 6th place and kept 2nd in this season's ranking.
http://www.honda.co.jp/SuperGT/spcon...preview/vol26/

**Suzuka round preview
*This year's race distance became 500km because of the influence of the earthquake.
*Weider(#1) was top time and EPSON(#32) was 2nd time in the Suzuka test (July 20-21).
*Suzuka is one of the most suitable circuits for the character of HSV-010. Suzuka has the layout where a low-speed corner and a high-speed corner are arranged well. In Suzuka, there are five corners where big lateral acceleration acts. Because HSV has an excellent frame stiffness, it becomes advantageous in such corners. And most important part in Suzuka is a s-curve. This corner where gaining the weight changes right and left is suitable for HSV, too.
*Up to now, we have fought hard. The problem is a Qualifying round though the speed of the machine is outstanding. Our target can do nothing but be won this race.

Honda would do well to have their car 'do well' at their track (Suzuka). Kinda like Toyota at FUJI! Also is not Suzuka the track debut originally for the HSV?

BBSB should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
"Michigami (2nd stint) had the cool suit trouble"

Again?
Seriously... WTF is wrong with that Honda's cool suit? I thought they had fixed it before sepang 2011? That thing keeps holding their drivers down over and over

PS: Have to say Duval's showing at Sugo's race was pathetic. He's quite good but that was signs of choking under pressure IMO.

*The plug of water hose was not connected tightly with the water box.
*Duval's pressure is due to "double aces strategy" of team Weider. The team should make Kogure No.1 driver.

Do many foreign fans attend Super GT events? Japan is a country I'd love to visit one day and I'd try and combine that with some kind of motor race. It's a dream for now though...

No.
Neither GTA nor Japanese manufacturers send enough information (in English) to overseas fans.

So true. Japanese Samurai if it werent for you, I wouldn't have half the idea about the racing, off season driver and car changes, politics etc.

You are worth your weight in gold for us non Japanese Super GT fans.

Suzuka round preview by Nissan
http://www.nissan-motorsports.com/EN...011/11047.html

Suzuka round preview by Yutaka Suzuki (NISMO team principal)
*SUGO round was finished, we are in 3rd place by the series ranking. We (NISMO) expect the victory in Suzuka round. We have a good feeling in Suzuka tires test (Sep 21-22).
*New aerodynamic parts such as the front bumper and the underpanel used from SUGO round function well. Moreover, we use the 2nd fresh engine from Suzuka round. This is an upgrade engine that improves the performance.
*In SUGO round, we made a mistake by the pit work. In Suzuka round, we can show you a perfect pit work.
*Motoyama and Treluyer maintain motivation. However they feel the frustration in the latest 2nd round. Therefore, we are expecting good race development in Suzuka round.
*As for team MOLA (#46), if tires match the high temperature, they will steadily acquire the point though they have the success ballast. Team Kondo (#24) also have a good feeling in the Suzuka tires test. As for team IMPUL(#12), the setting of the machine is excellent.

No price tag! If you want to buy this car, I inquire them.

GTA announced that fuel restrictor would not be obligated in Suzuka round in consideration of the long race distance (500km).

Team ZENT Cerumo (#38) seemed to have chosen a hybrid (2010 aero parts and 2011 suspensions) front section as well as SUGO round. (There is a single stay at the center of the front air intake. 2011 version has twin stays)

It's never folded to design the Super GT series video game (PC, PS3, XBOX360)?... (Hopefully in the future things would be differently)

super GT is almost unknown outside japan, only well motivated motorsport fans know this compettion... a videogame of only super GT series will be a fiasco (was however available a game about JGTC for N64 some years ago). The only way to simulate in a videogame the super GT is to create a championship with custom mods in gtr2, won't be perfect because of massive lack of GT300 cars but is better than nothing.

According to ARTA's press release,
BS supplied new structural tires in this round.
It excels in the warm-up performance, and the balance of used conditions is good.
However, they were not able to match the settings of the machine to new tires.
Driver of Q1 was Mutoh (with Dry condition).

Was ARTA the only team to get the new tires from BS? Because other BS teams (including HSV's) didn't seem to have trouble
