But not in that color scheme, yuk!
I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at the Vantage GTE successor, I'm sure Aston can easily find enough investors to make the required number of production cars. I'll be 2018 at the earliest though. |

My worry for Aston at the moment is pumping money into the DBX project and possibly getting themselves deeper in financial trouble, the company produces GREAT sports cars and should be renown for that - not following the herd and producing a 4x4

So going forward all Aston road cars will be getting their 5.2 TT V12 or the AMG 4.0 TT V8 from the AMG GT and C63. For GTE only the 4.0 would be legal, so that's what I think they'll run. My question is, who do you think will develop the engine? AMG or Prodrive?

I can't remember if V8 is the only mandatory layout for NA engines in GTLM specs, but as SRT viper obtained a huge waive to use the 8L V10; I think that being the 4.5 V8 too weak compared to new turbo engines, AMR had to switch to the 5.9 V12 from vantage gt3, destroked to 5.5L of course for the "new" vantage GTLM.
Consumes won't be a issue, being vantage gt3 able to run more than 1 hour with 100L in BES, vantage GTE usually has a fuel tank of 90-95L. |

Surely the GTE/GTLM will use the V8 turbo for reasons of physical size, and the GT3 will use the V12 turbo because it will be able to run in a very relaxed state of tune and never need a rebuild.

I do not think it will come down to size, but money. They would use one engine and one car for the next gen. of racing products. GT4, GT3, and GTE would all use the same V8 with different levels of tune.

It's a game everyone plays. Aston are very good at it. I wonder if the second aero kit is higher drag? They were super fast on the straight, 302kmh vs 298kmh for the nearest competitor. Probably the reason for the restrictor cut.

No way the ACO would let a car enter which would beat the LMP1s.

It's aero (namely the under floor) are far from ACO legal. And I don't think that AMR would invest in redesigning the car for a possible LMP1. Especially after the disaster of the AMR-One and the fact that the current LMP1 rules are less inviting for small factory teams than they were in the pre-2014 air restrictor BOP era.

But the Garage 56 have not rules, then the car could race here if ACO allow this. This car could be a point of start of a extreme GT category in the same lever than LMP1, like the the battle of the end of 90 between GT1 and LMP1/WSC. |

Future road car engine strategy for AMR is the V8s come from AMG - V12 will be in-house project.
Expect new race cars to follow on from new Vantage launch |
