If you imagine to "sanitize" the car between two runs is it only for Gt's and Tintops or should we imagine something different for the convertibles?

I'd shower the driver with praise!
Is this what single-seater drivers are talking about when they say they need a new tub? He certainly had a clean run up the hill... and he was surely bathing in applause on the way back down. I could go on... |

I'm as baffled as you Gerard, just trying to get into the head of the powers that be here. But I can't.

Yes Max we'll always find people with "ideas" when scientists are stil learning about this virus. Talking about rule of the thumb in this case is just showing ignorance.

This is where we need to listen to advice, we are slowly getting further. It's still a while till we get going again, but not too long hopefully

I'm just trying to get my drivers into slots at kart tracks. They're opening with limited numbers, "first come, first served." Clay ran its first ones at the weekend and they were a great success according to all who went. It's kicking off again, softly softly.

At kart tracks we've all got to wear face coverings so I've bought the guys shields so they can work easily. I'm hoping even this will be a temporary measure, although hand and worktop hygiene is going to remain paramount.

Interesting to note in the VSCC statement (linked in the 2020 dates thread) that they are of the view that as we have surmised, a likely lack of marshals and an apparent dissatisfaction with the proposed PPE and self-distancing provisions for them means they think several planned events can't be run.

what excactly does this mean:
"No national or British championship events will take place in July to reduce potential national and international travel (excludes FIA championships)." in plain English (or optionally plain German) ?? What does take place ? and what not ? If I read that correctly then most historic racing cant take place as most of it is a "National event" this rates a good 9,1 on the 0-10 garbled-scale RuE |

Well the only I think of is that no national championships are going ahead in June and July. The BTCC and British GT are back in August and the British GP is due to go ahead in July, although that could be pushed back to August
That’s all I know, so I think they could be referring to that. I don’t know of any historic events that are scheduled for July atm, or any national meeting for that matter |

Yes agreed. I think it means National and British championships which generally excludes Historic club events.

There is a flaw in this theory: some of the biggest grids and numbers of participants race with the CSCC, and none of their competitions are championships. |

I guess that they are assuming that club racing can take place with less people overall. They may also be using club racing as an experiment to see if it can take place within the guidelines? As for CSCC and other clubs with big participation, it may be that numbers of helpers have to be limited but I would still suggest that social distancing can be observed. Not sure what happens at drivers change overs when help with belts is required though. PPE, I suppose. |

I think if you read the document sent out a week ago, that driver change events are banned. Rallying will take place without a co-driver. Shared drives are not allowed at the kart tracks that are now open.

Eta, just checked the guidance issued on 18 May: DRIVER CHANGES: • For events requiring driver changes the time period for the change must allow for sanitisation of the contact areas within the vehicle. (+30 seconds) • Shared use of an internal breather and hydration system is prohibited Last edited by andy97; 27 May 2020 at 18:23. |

Thank goodness there are some series that don’t require pitstops unless needed. Mind you some series like British GT have had minimum pitlane times, like a minute, so for some it might not make much of a difference
