Unfortunately, high resolution still photograph from close angle which you provided here isn't quite representative of what happens in motion and longer viewing distances, where it all becomes a big blur of polarizing light. Supplementary light strips added or not...

So maybe it is the other, long term rumoured entry- Mclaren, instead of Lambo to announce at Geneva?
Press Conference scheduled for 6th March. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2018/0...m-mclaren.html |

Also, given Mclarens Le Mans success with the F1 GTR- is it not more logical for them to use the upcoming BP23, which has a single front seat inspired by the F1 layout

But why would they want a LMGTE product after touting for a decade or more that they are not interested in class victories, only overall. What's changed?
However, maybe them coming over would put at least a temporary stop to them (or rather Zak Brown now) making DPi-like lobby demands to the ACO on how GTP 2.0 / LMP1-of-the-future should look like, that would be welcoming... Or maybe it's some sort of new GT1 car and Stephane Ratel stands up in the audience, clapping |

Certainly looks that way, although there's been no backtracking on the Lambo rumour, so who knows, maybe both, but this is presumably the one which has been referenced in the press recently.

"Please don't be a race version of the 'Senna'", I keep repeating to myself.

Is that even legal these days? The ACO regulations since then have always defined a sports car as having two seats on either side of the center line.

If it's the road car's layout, they're not going to care. It fits the spirit, if not the letter, of the rules and does not produce an overwhelming advantage over other cars. Won't even need a waiver for it.

I would love it but having a very hard time seeing them meet the various manufacturers 'requirements'.

I see a lot of talk about Lister going on through various Twitter folk like specutainment and dsc. I wonder if there's plans for the brand to return to Le Mans/endurance (wec) coming up in the auto shows?

Looking more likely the Senna will be announced as a McLaren GTE car.

That monstrosity doesn't belong in GTE. I think the Ford GT is pushing it. This thing is a million dollar + semi prototype. I really don't understand why they'd do this car when they're doing a 720s GT3 which would suffice with some upgrades (or downgrades) and bop. It'd save the company money and could actually have customer cars for a reasonable price. If the base car costs over a million, imagine how much trying to run a private effort with it would be! I don't understand the logic in running it. But whatever McLaren decides, can't say they make the best decisions recently

McLaren are taking the route of wanting to advertise and use as many products as they possibly can. In GT4, Audi and Mercedes use the same base car (although I believe Audi did do a TT GT4 Prototype), whilst McLaren used a totally different car for the GT4.
They're doing the same thing with GTE. If you've got a product you want to see, you might as well advertise it. |

Lister Thunder presumably? Be good to have Lister back in motorsport, they'd face fierce competition in GTE though. I'm not convinced it's the right place for a small manufacturer to go racing these days.
