I have been reliably informed that Mike Newman's Firenza (which he still has) is currently stripped for re-painting into the original colour scheme shown in these pictures! Should look great when it's finished.

Maybe a mod could explain to us just why Driftwood was banned so soon after loosing the excellent Clive Brown as well.

I second that comment Al (although I did sometimes find Cive Brown's approach rather abrasive, I've never seen similar style stuff from Driftwood).

Can I stick up for Drifty here? Although Clive may well have been abrasive, I have every confidence that Drifty could match him abrasion for abrasion.
As I can speak freely - because he's unable to post to defend himself - can I remind everyone that Drifty's "shoot first, ask questions later" style has caused a number of owners to leave rather than give information about their cars. Great amusement value for Drifty but it doesn't help us learn. Let's be honest here: I can tell when an owner is talking ******** as well, but it's better to encourage him to talk about his car rather than rubbish it instantly. That way we learn more. Being welcoming is a good rule for the forum. I have pointed this out to Drifty more than once but Drifty can't take on board a rule without immediately forming a plan to break it. Drifty is a very useful guy to have around so I do hope he can modify his style but I'm completely confident that he won't. I'm already taking bets on the date and length of his next ban. |

Up in loft today putting Christmas decs away for another year.
I found an old folder that I used to put cutting in from Autosports and Motoring News when I was a lad, mid 70's. I have scanned some interesting one into my computer. I have not hear of Tony Hazelwood's Jaguar XJ8 mentioned yet (unless I missed it). The second one must have been from a sales advert, look have far back the engine was and where the driver sat. You can just make out the advert stating "Offers around £8,000 considered or part exchange XJ6 or new Rover 3500" Then there is Nick Whiting (Mk2 Escort) and Rob Mason testing their new cars, and rounding Druids with Tony Rosen Capri. And last one for this time Jonathan Buncombe's Chimp, which hopefully you can just make out the open rear window and perspex uprights. |

Drifty
Had I picked up on this earlier, I would have 'deleted' some of these posts, because frankly they are off topic, and despite views to the contrary, people get warned and/or banned for very good reasons - usually involves breaches (in the case of bans, repeated breaches ) of the rules ...and the rules are there for good reasons! So:-
If you behave like a schoolboy, you get treated like one! Quote:

Since the ban was only temporary, I think that you will find Drifty has returned to the fold. End of! |
