Jackman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Not a bad line up. Shame di Resta had no budget, and Yoshi got toasted, but with all the van der Garde nonsense he's probably got a good shot at Super Aguri's third drive now. Otherwise, not a lot of holes.

Sev has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
And some top-class drivers in not-so-top-class cars. Interesting to see how that will pan out. Although; judging from Glocks performance before he moved to iSport, I suspect that Danielsson is going to struggle badly.

So; when's the first race?

Hence my comment "RE is about to sign Razia"

Anyway, that's Autosport's opinion, that was my source. Generally, they're correct.

Razia has to complete his budget in order to concrete his agreement with RE within ten days:

Jimenez, Lopez...

AFAIK, but not from Alfonso ! Second RE driver needs to complete just around 30% - 40% of required budget, rest is financed by team's backers.

So now the line-up is all but complete, who do you reckon are going to be title contenders this year?

My bet is on Glock, Pizzonia, Zuber and Ammermuller - maybe a bit of Conway, Pantano, di Grassi, Senna and Maldonado in there as well. Either way, I'd say it looks pretty even

I think we need a seperate thread now for predictions :-) But in brief, I'm going for a Glock walk-over.

i assume almost all the seats are already taken but have we got any chance to see somebody like Thiago Monteiro (with his big backings) grab one of the seat left (if there is still one...)

I can't see Monteiro wanting to step down right now - WTCC wouldn't be so bad because at least that is seen as the leading championship of its kind.

Still, GP2 in 2008 may not be such a bad idea if Glock, Pantano and Pizzonia show up well. Of course he could yet be in an STR but I find that unlikely.

2007 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition will start its fourth season(*) at mid-March with Championship and Sakhir predictions... so that separate thread will be soon

(*) First season was in 2004 with Int'l F3000 predictions.

Cos the GP2 prediction competition is interforums, and is made in some Old World forums (Europe) and New World ones (America). Eight forums will enter the contest this year.

If you could sell a drive for 40% of the required budget would you give it to a newcomer, with so many good drivers looking for a seat? Lopez or Perera, IMO, would be the best options left.

Okay, it seems like Danielsson's out, so there's still an open seat at BCN. And still no official confirmation of Piccione, although it would be surprising if he lost out at this stage: he has the budget and the track record to be there.

Picccione's got a win and 3 podiums, and at DPR: that's better than average, just.

I was a bit surprised at the news too since Alx himself he wasn't going to do a full GP2 season. What is the source for the mistake btw? Autosport as well?

Yeah Jackman, he won in second race, which means that he finished first race in eighth position.
Autosport Obizzz, confused me either.
