We'll see soon. I hope it's close but I am worried about the DENSO LC.

I think it's from Takayuki Aoki. But remember that was a testing session, some teams might be did some simulations by running with weight handicap so it's not guaranteed all teams unleashed 100% from their cars in terms of laptime.

Yes, previously it's stated that Kamui was also struggled to get adapted with the car as well. Among other Lexus GT500 cars with Bridgestone tyres, the #39 was the slowest almost in every testing session.

Autosport web is reporting:
*Team Gainer's two car participation by Nissan might be a strategic move for future GT500 participation. *Yanagida will participate in Fuji 500 miles as 4th driver. *Two grouping in GT300 Q1 might be carried out at SUGO round. http://www.as-web.jp/supergt/353397?all |

Yes. Since Nismo doesn't have any plans to expand into 2 cars, that will be good idea. But I'm also hoping that Gainer should also racing in GT300 class too as Nissan factory team for GT-R GT3. So (if it's really possible), I prefer ARTA-like participation by racing on both classes.

Any word on when the Nismo will reveal it's livery or will it stay that cool black all season?

There's still the ARTA BMW, unless I somehow missed important news in the past few weeks.

Good find, Akio.
BMW apparently seems to lose interest in Super GT. |

I not surprise with lose interest, I mean since GSR left to Mercedes and M6 appear they not have alot good result in Japan. (win the championship I mean)
Well last season ARTA can get 4 on final rank that's not bad at all for me but for BMW maybe that's become bad PR, maybe they will back (if ARTA back to NSX GT3 next season) with new gen BMW GT3 racecar in next few years. Btw ARTA not using M6 GT3 Evo right? |

https://supergt.net/news/single/17851 Whether ARTA GT300 will stay with BMW M6 GT3 or switch to NSX GT3 next year, it won't surprise me because of existing business relation between BMW & Autobacs, and also the fact that ARTA previously used CRZ GT300. Until 2017, so far the M6 GT3 is still competitive, but not followed by other M6 GT3 customer (Studie). |

Regarding the loses interest of BMW in SUPER GT
Quote:

Good point! There still have ARTA BMW in the GT300 grid for BMW however , he means 2018 season not 2019 season. For 2019 season , we will see that results that whether ARTA used BMW or NSX GT3. Quote:

BMW does not seems to lose interest in Super GT because of SUPER GT and DTM collaboration. Speaking about importer departure , The reason why BMW Japan no longer sponsor in SUPER GT that because they don't feel like promoting their brand using the GT3 car right now, which is why they asked Studie to leave GT300 and go to Blancpain GT Asia with the GT4 car. ARTA is just one of their many regular customers. If they decide to use a different car, then there probably won't be a BMW car in GT300 anymore, yes. But that's just speculation for next year. Further than that , Audi Japan might withdrawn the sponsor in SUPER GT as one of the manufacturer permanently that because Audi R8 is discontinued in 2020. Which means that 2019 is the final year of Audi R8 LMS . If they find the replacement like RS 5 and TT RS , it doesn't make any sense to replaced R8 for Audi GT3 program. Quote:

@Baliwa & @hvr777 Regarding GSR switching Mercedes from BMW , that because that Mercedes-AMG is gain a lot of support for the GT3 program for them than BMW GT3 program. Because they want to retain two Japanese Driver for their team. They switch to Mercedes in 2015. For BMW GT3 Support, I think they need at least one of the foreign driver to gain enough support for them. ARTA hired Sean Walkinshaw in 2017 to replaced Takashi Kobayashi as he stepped up to GT500 for last year. Because they want to have a lot of the support from BMW Motorsport, they hired the foreign driver to partner with Shinichi Takagi. And last season , Sean Walkinshaw is the first foreign driver to drive ARTA GT300 machine. (Excluded ARTA GT500) For this season , ARTA using M6 GT3 EVO kit. The reference as shown as below there. Plus Sean Walkinshaw confirmed that they will used M6 GT3 EVO kit https://jp.motorsport.com/supergt/ne...%81%BF-998513/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BffaPolh...ean_walkinshaw Well BMW Japan will return as one of the sponsorship in SUPER GT as the manufacturer with M8. However Audi might withdraw as one of the sponsorship in SUPER GT as Audi R8 discontinued in 2020. Speaking About ARTA PR I also have the big question mark for that until my friends give me my opinion: Q: Since this season has only one BMW M6 GT3 which operate by ARTA, then why don't they called BMW Team ARTA ? A: Autobacs is already the sponsor of team Aguri. And Autobacs does more than "just" BMW as a company, so using BMW in the team title would have a bad PR effect. For my opinion, whether ARTA GT300 will stay with BMW M6 GT3 or switch to NSX GT3 next year is depends on their decision and the business relationship between BMW. Strictly said, They prefer to use their own business car rather than "very good relationship" car . ARTA Garaiya is the prime example which operate by ARTA in 9 years. Even honda introduced NSX GT300 in 2004 , they never used it. Which means they never really associated the GT300 team with a certain manufacturer and I think they never used NSX GT3 in next year. Although BMW Japan withdrew the sponsor as one of the manufacturer in SUPER GT. They will continue to mention the achievements of ARTA in Super GT this season, because ARTA is one of their customers. They name all the achievements of their customers. But ARTA probably won't suddenly receive any factory support or something, at least not more than other BMW customer teams worldwide. If ARTA BMW become is series champion in GT300 , they will continued to used M6 GT3 in the final year of M6 GT3 or even they will strengthen the relationship between BMW Motorsport just like Studie, before they replaced by M8 GT3. @bentley speed 8 , @TF110 , @Japanese Samurai , @Monkey Head , @Baliwa , @hvr777 Everyone , all this review that I write through the research and the survey regarding the BMW SUPER GT GT3 program. If you disagree this statement or the review, please stated the reason. I hoped you all not hesitate to review to my opinion including JS because this post is too long Last edited by AkioAsakura95; 5 Apr 2018 at 04:44. |

I don't follow BMW like you do, but I hope they stay for 2019. Maybe they hope class 1 comes to fruition to use a BMW class 1 vehicle?

Thanks you buddy! It doesn't matter you follow BMW or you did not follow. The important things is you look the review that I am written Speaking about BMW class 1 vehicle , I hoped BMW will enter SUPER GT in GT500 category with their DTM vehicle which is BMW M4 DTM , or other vehicle in 2020 at least. However , next year will be the earliest. And I fully support SUPER GT and DTM collaboration as well. What if ARTA BMW won GT300 championship in this year, ARTA will strengthen the relationship between BMW and they might used BMW Class 1 vehicle to participate GT500 in 2020 (at least). |

Our resident dummy wrote a dummies guide to SuperGT, for those who've always wanted to watch it, but never actually did it. Which I have to admit, was me until last year. |

Why do you want super gt to prop up the DTM? I hope class 1 never happens, an expensive white elephant of a series

I agree. As much as I would love to see another Class One i think that the Germans would do more harm then good to SGT so dont really want to see them together. Love SGT as it is without the Germans getting involved and putting everything out of balance

Right now I think the Japanese makes have a lot more sway to the rules and future of the class/cars than the German's. Three vs two and all, plus the DTM series losing Mercedes puts them in a more desperate mood.
