Jackman should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

I went with the Autosport magazine claim since I know the guy who writes for them, and I know his sources. I haven't been in the paddock for a while, or really even spoken to many people much as I've been away, so I figured he would know what's going on better than I would. It was only when I was told otherwise by someone who does know better that I figured that the magazine was sent the wrong way on this. It happens: it's not unheard of for teams to mislead (or mis-direct) a journo.

Oh well, guess we're back to waiting for the official news from .com.

I'm guessing you didn't see that race then. Winning that one was probably worth a couple of lights to flag wins, in every way other than points.

Ricardo Risatti IV has signed for BCN. There will be the first time that Scalabroni's team will ran an Argentine driver in a GP2 race (previous one was Esteban Guerrieri in the F3000).

I know that the choice was based on the budget available, but is Risatti any better than Lopez?

At this moment López is better than Ricardo Risatti, but, bearing in mind that Ca*to has at least one of his sponsors the same as López (Córdoba government), Scalabroni may thing to change drivers if the results doesn't come well (this is pure speculation). Risatti is, at least, as good as JC Álvarez.

José Mar*a López is set to do TC2000 touring car series, but with a contractual clause that he could move to an international series (Champ Cars, for example) if a chance appears. Norberto Fontana did something similar in 2001, when he did his first TC2000 year and stopped at some races to do his three outings at Int'l F3000.

Forgot that Fontana could had been driven the BCN F3000 car at Mónaco race at 2003! Scalabroni called him in but Norberto had passport problems and was forced to stay in Argentina. Then called Will Langhorne instead.

According to a recent article he's in negotiations with two F1 teams as a test driver (4th or 5th driver I believe) and the main goal is to get as much time in an F1 car as possible. We already know he's going to test for Renault as part of the prize for WSR.

He and his family started a Carrera Cup team last year which he will race in as much as time permits.

Other than those two he's also looking to make a few appearances in Champcar but it doesn't seem like he's talking about a full season.

This was taken from a Swedish newspaper interview.. bear in mind that what Alx says in the press isn't always what he really means or the reporter might misunderstand some things. Still waiting for a report from the man himself in one of his newsletters or on the Swedish forum he visits.

Chandhok in at Durango? That one is slightly out of the blue. Would have thought another season in WS would have been better but hey ho.

Am gutted for Daneilsson if Razia is definately in at BCN - really don't think Danielsson deserves to have been left out to dry like he has. Would have thought Renault would have got more behind him and helped him find a spot in GP2 but evidently not.

I really think winning World Series should merit more than just a test - maybe a guaranteed GP2 drive. I'm sure several teams would be clamouring over themselves to have a WS Champion in their team at Renault's expense.

It would certainly attract more WS drivers that way as well. Oh well, never mind.

Maybe it's Alvaro Parente. He's not Spanish but sort of lives next door. It would be good if Alfonso were to save his career.

Monteiro recently mentioned Champ Car or WTCC as his main options. It would really be a surprise if he turns up in GP2! Who knows...

It would be great if Parente got the seat! Things aren't looking that good for him at the moment..

Has he got backing? He had big money wows in recent years.

Really mate, TC2000 for Lopez is a waste of time. He can still save his career, he can downgrade his 2007 ambitions, and go back to FR3.5 for a season, and if not... he should go for Formula Nippon, where he would be paid, or go for factory drive in GT, TC. He will not return to Europe if he'll sign for TC2000.
