A examination of the sector times shows that the Felbermayer-Proton Porsche was quicker than the Virgo Ferrari in sectors 1 and 3 (long straights)
It was sector 2 that was its downfall. If only they had development tires like the Virgo car, we would really have a fight on our hands! |

JMB Racing has switched to Dunlops http://translate.google.com/translat...e.php?sid=5548 http://www.jmb-racing.com/ |

if you look a bit closly you'll see that ferrari is holding alll sectors, see the frambracher ferrari was setup like the porsches and thus was fastest in 1, and the 3 sector while beeing slowest of the 3 in sector 2, but it still took the best lap you need to accept once that ferrari won and there are other races, No poprsche was not faster and no nobody is giving ferrari an ufair addvantige, cos, u see if wee get into it what do you have to say about porsches getting 25 kilo brakes in fia gt, and i think in alms too, and also michelin is developing tires specialy for porsche for Le Mans and alms I also forgot that Virgo is a very small team compared to fambracher racing and flmbyer proton, wich are practicly bouth factory teams. |

Virgo is the fatory team for Ferrari-Michelotto and Dunlop.
Felbermayr and Farnbacher are only Porsche teams, they're not favoured by Michelin in any way. They don't use any development tire, like Virgo's Ferrari and Dunlop. Porsche uses only Michelin customer tires. A greatful difference. |

As for the 25 kg break in FIA gt: read my other posts and you will see that I am very much against that idea. There are no IMSA bulettins that indicate any type of weight break for Porsche in the ALMS. Michelin might be developing special tires for Porsche, just as Dunlop are developing them for Ferrari. The Virgo car has a development contract with Dunlop, but the Felbermayer Porsche does not have one with Michelin.... no matter how much you try and twist things. Quote:

Each of the Porsche teams running Michelin tires are customers, which means that they buy their own tires prior to the race, have limited compounds to choose from, and have to monitor pressures and temperatures themselves. The Ferrari enjoyed development tires from Dunlop....

On RLM a few weeks the guys also commented how odd it is to put Porsche factory drivers into the cars and not get a development tyre deal. The Porkas are running customer tyres.
Did that perhaps change in the mean time, without anyone noticing? |
