So many buttons for traction control (+/- rear, +/- front, wet/dry switch), not great that throttle pedal control has come to this.

really cool. Is interesting to see the OT button like F1 cars, but don't know if like 2014 F1 cars, this button let the engine to rev without a revlimiter (usually close to 8000rpm for the 919) for a while or like 2009-2013 F1 cars this button let the driver to decide where and when to use the hybrid boost

Could be both depending on the situation and ECU/computer might decide what's the best use. Not sure if even the drivers know what it does or if they care as long as it gives more ooomph.

Congratulations Porsche!
Not too bad considering neither Dumas nor Hartley had any experience on this track.

Next step: Work on that race pace. Still very far from where it needs to be.

Yes, it seems suspension/ tire-ware issues are still a major issue. Hopefully the 2015 car will have that sorted.

And Kimi's disastrously slow season gets him a big salary for next year.

When/if Alonso leaves Ferrari, will Kimi still be the #2 driver?

I think with Kimi's input, theyll make a more fitting car for him. This year's car was heavily influenced by Alonso. I would say Kimi and Vettel like a stable rear on the car and a pointy front. I guess lmp1's have to have a larger operating window with the compromise in setup between 3 drivers. Probably a good idea for teams to have drivers with like driving styles.

Anyone still think Button isn't leaving McLaren?

http://www1.skysports.com/f1/news/24...-leave-mclaren

He's had the air of someone who has his future sorted out today if you watch interviews and read his tweets.

He's definitely out for Alonso (feels like 2003 all over again), but it's another leap to say his favoured destination is sportscars. For instance, he could have a fairly comfortable time jobbing in DTM if no other F1 team will take him on.

While DTM might be more to his liking (since he long time ago said he doesn't like multiclass racing), I think the attractive thing in WEC is that there aren't many other places where you can get into a big team with resources and preparation similar to F1 teams. For someone who has used to F1-level preparation for a decade like Webber this might be surprisingly important.

I can't discount that as a factor. There's also Super GT to consider however, which isn't that far off the preparation/resources of LMP1-H and would be of particular interest to his partner. More than anything it depends on what ambitions he has left, now that he's aware of the other forms of motorsport on offer.

Japanese connection of Super GT might be a big attraction for him/them, but then again the promotion of that series really only focuses on domestic market. Unless you are diehard fan looking for SGT news/media on purpose from the web, you're never gonna know what's happening up there from Europe/America. I don't think Jenson would like to disappear off the international radar completely - and even if some bigger source like Autosport could report some initial progress in minor articles, it wouldn't last forever

Autosports article is painting a different scenario. Leaving McLaren =/= leaving F1 or going to the wec (Porsche). He also hints at being in a slower car, not racing in 2015, doing different types of racing etc.

Sportscar365 have a look at the logistics of moving Porsches LMP1 team around the globe. Very interesting read especially the freight case sizes.

Didn't know the hazardous materials such as the lithium batteries had to be put in a secure room for 48hrs before and after each flight.
