Yeah they're just missing diveplanes which they disassemble during shipping. The shape of the headlight cluster is the same from COTA Mexico and Nurburgring. The low drag version has holes in the front fenders below the lights.

Toyota giving Derani a run for the rookie test. Sportscar365 says an LMP1 team has locked up a star LMP2 driver for next season. Connect the dots?

It's easy for me to say it now, but I thought Derani was always more likely to get a Toyota seat (either LM or full season) than Lopez. But with Conway coming good and Sarrazin holding his own I wouldn't like to pick between the two ... which wouldn't be an issue if Toyota have a third car next year.

At DSC TMG are talking about basically a token system for 2018 onwards, yet ironically will be almost totally redesigning their car for next season--only the tub and hybrid systems will carry over. The 2017 TS050 will possibly also have a new engine as well.

I'm thinking the engine will remain the same but will use bespoke parts instead of the off the shelf stuff the current car has been using. Although this is just my opinion.

Took long enough!
Nothing but praise for Toyota today. Fast car, fast crew, fast drivers. It's not Le Mans, but it's no less than their home race deserved. |

I am so overjoyed inside right now. After Le Mans, in 2016 a hard-fought home win is just the payback Toyota needed.
Hopefully this also finally pushes the 3-cars-at-Le-Mans button for 2017. It has to. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

What a great way to end the race! Hairs on the back of my neck, next year looks good for Toyota in my eyes, LM can't come soon enough.

Finally after nearly two years Toyota gets their deserved victory, at home nonetheless! Gotta be good for business and for the program to get a bump and nod of approval from the higher-ups who were in the garage!

So here is what I think of today.
Great race and well deserved home race! By looking at times, Anthony is under performing as of Sarrazan as well. And Kamui on double stint was unbelievably fast! (The tire wasn't suppose to last for two stints!) To clear out some rumors, Eng will be re-designed and hybrid system will have minor upgrade. Third car related news will become sure thing in next few days! |

I wonder whether the crash at Magny-Cours is the reason for Davidson being off the pace.

Sportscar365 speculating that Lopez has been tipped to replace a current driver for next year. Sarrazin??? Also names Alex Lynn, Gio Van De Garde, Matthias Beche and Ryu Hirakawa as candidates for the potential 3rd car.

I think Hirakawa is a done deal. Lopez too. Interesting if he is replacing someone in the 2 current cars.

According to this, Toyota's manager Murata surprised that Porsche changed tires in the last pit stop. Porsche #1 actually had lots of rubber marbles and the car balance was not good so decided to change tires but the balance did not improve til the end.
Murata also said that Kamui is so calm during his last stint that he could exchange details with the engineer many times during this battle. Kamui said he tried to have #1 to uses their tires too much and get lots of marbles by letting #1 to run undesired lines before Webber took in. Murata said that Shanghai would be hard for them but Bahrain could be okay (i dont know why). he said it is more important to verify very new components for their new car 2017 indicating that their main target is the big one next year already. Makes sense, since I don't think Toyota have tested the other two packages as much as their LM package.

Even though he's had a rough go since Le Mans it would be shocking to see Davidson get replaced. To me he is the most marketable and best interview in the team. Seems like a real glue guy beyond the driving.
