I can tell you that it has gotten extremely overcast & humid plus a strong wind has blown up over Ipswich which is not a good sign.

Looking at the radar, there is a break in the storm that could go very close to scraping through the indy track... it has certainly cooled down a lot...

Personally, I believe rain races make F1 good, but after last year's literal parade, I must say that CART's tight street courses are no place for wet whether. Let's just hope things go well, and it's a safe start to an entertaining and dramatic race. PT either does it now, or it comes down to a battle royale in the final race of the season. I'll drink to that... more so than I have now... but I guess that's just Lister Hall talking...

Reports from towns south of here is hail the size of golf balls, with the occassional cricket ball. That was a red dot on the radar. A red dot is heading for Southport

I'm packing up my kit, the media centre doesn't look too strong

Bad news with the hail storm at Burleigh as well as a storm just hitting Ipswich & heading East, it is not looking good weather wise.

Holy cow! Didn't the media centre get the wobbles up!

40km south of the track there was hail 4 inches in diameter and nearly 500 houses being damaged closer to the track, with a tornado lifting one house of its base...

On the news they showed the effect of the storm & i reckon the hailstones they showed from Tugun were the size of cricket balls.

It's a bit of a mess around there at the moment.
We were lucky only to get hail the size of golf balls where I live. My wife phoned me up at the track and told me not to try to come home in it, just find shelter at the track (like the bar of the ANA hotel )
My car was in an underground carpark at Broadbeach, so that was ok.
