Indeed, a ridiculous penalty robs us from the legitimate Pole Position starter. Without that penalty Schumacher should had been considered a likely contender for the victory, but due to that penalty he is without any change.

It seemed odd that he got a penalty that was at worse a mistake. However, it did come off the back of the practice shenanigans in Spain. Maybe it was more to with that?
Anyway, a great lap by TGF in Monaco. |

He can still win of course. But he is more than likely to just crash into the back of someone now.

Without any chance? A car capable of pole, starts sixth. Tyres that encourage racing. There is more chance than recents years.

Just so good to see him take Pole - despite the penalty. Haters are gonna hate, so whatever pleases you, but the fact is this old bugger just tucked drivers barely half his age into his back pocket on one of the toughest, most demanding tracks on the calendar.
Good on him and while it may seem the odds may be somewhat against him for victory due to the penalty, at least he's shown that age is just a number to someone as focused, determined and fit as he seems to be. It's also great to see him so relaxed about it all - despite his bad luck this year. Looking forward to the race, which is shaping up as a cracker. |

Just when Maldonado thought that things couldn't get any worse...
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/99912 All is own fault, IMO. EDIT: Schumacher gets pole with terrible tyres! |

Yep, because Michael was upset with their one lap pace.

With two drivers not known for their prowess on the starts sitting on the front row, and several drivers who are, such as Alonso annd Michael not too far back it should be a highly entertaining 1st corner.

And this is F1 2012. Anything can happen. An 'avoidable accident' is the phrase that gets used quite a lot in F1, these days. Indeed it was. He seemed quite happy about it, even knowing that the penalty would be applied. I sure hope that he stays clear of any 'avoidable accidents' in the future. |

As for a race today, well history would indicate that it's unlikely we'll have anything other than a procession... however if the Pirelli tyres manage to gift us one, then 2012 will have all the ingredients for one of the greatest and most exciting F1 seasons of all time. Fingers crossed. |

Is the ten-tenths chatroom up or just the stats?

Okay something must be wrong,
I can't access the chat from either Firefox or IE. I was able to every other time I clicked a link to enter chat. All it is showing me is the chat statistics. |

Yep I'm in now.
Not sure what the problem was. I restarted my computer and let all my programs access the Internet to make sure. |
