How deceptive it was to judge the pace of petrol cars based on Dyson.

Sure Laguna is a twisty track, but where is the huge diesel power advantage? The 8th placed P2 Radical was a second slower than Pirro.

So the R10 was built for Le Mans first, and happens to be pretty darn good at most other circuits. But with stiffer competition, we can see that it's not unstoppable. If Zytek and Creation can manage to run 4 solid hours with professional stops and a good strategy they can win.

I'll say it again, I'd love to see how those two cars could manage at 925kgs.

Well it is still the very first year for the car. I know the Zytek and Creation cars are faster, but how would Dyson be if he had the same amount of time? Oh, do you guys know what weight Dyson is running this race?

Well it kind of works both ways - Zytek & Creation have only had their cars for this year as well; yes they may look similar to last years' cars, but they are different in many ways (Zytek especially).

I should think Dyson will be disappointed but I hope that Weaver's qualifying time is representative of what the Lola can achieve, I doubt it is.

However, all truths be told, it is ominous that the Dyson cars have been off the outright pace vs. the Euro cars, given the amount of work they have put in this season.........I cannot help but feel the Creation/Judd or Zytek/Zytek combo is better for outright pace and reliability. This must be painful for Dyson to watch given the fact that a Zytek or two was a possible to replace the B01/60.

I would like to see whether the 860kg rule would have been introduced had Zytek and/or Creation been there for the entire season - Cant help but feel it wouldn’t have been, in which case Dyson would really have been struggling…….

However, Dyson being the people they are will not get down after one qualy session, they are professionals, true competitors and a credit to themselves - I thoroughly wish the best for them both at Laguna and for the 2007 season.

Nice to see the Zytek on pole and showing everyone the way so far.

Will be interesting to see what their race pace is like tommorow but a win could definately be on the cards.
