I would think that is Diaz that just moved to the front of P-C.

Late session red, which closed out the session, was for Greg Pickett in the Cytosport Spyder. It was a severe off and sent Pickett to the hospital for observation. Piece by Dagys

Wow, that Cytosport wreck looks terrible. Here's hoping they can get it repaired and Pickett will be able to drive on Saturday.

Always unfortunate to lose a car before a race, but good to hear the Muscle Milk man is OK.

Looked like a big off, but was surprised to hear Porsche would be carrying a spare RS Spyder tub to the tracks with them. Did his toy come with some support from Porsche trackside or does anybody know if he bought a spare tub and some trackside assistance if necessary from Porsche motorsport?

Porsche should have plenty of tubs-I don't think any RS Spyder has even been written off, and even the tubs that Audi damaged in '08 at Mosport and Detroit were repaired. And at least one Peugeot 908 that was damaged in '08 was repaired, and that may've been the car that won LM in '09 and DNF'ed in '10 due to a suspension failure.
Still, though, it's nice to see that they support their customers even if they've had to cut back their program. EDIT: I saw the photo, and it looks kinda like the Goh RS Spyder that got trashed at LM last year. Was that car written off? |

Dagys is now reporting that the car has been withdrawn. http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...massive-crash/
Oh well, at least the championship was close for a while. |

EDIT: Cuttlefish beat me to it. They have withdrawn.
Big shame all 'round for Cytosport. Further, Picket was NOT transported to a local hospital. |

Highcroft's got the LMP championship in the bag now unless they DNF or DNS in a race before years' end. Such is the sad quality of the LMP class in the ALMS, thought the LMS isn't any better against Peugeot-backed Oreca.

I'll be leaving EARLY in the morning for the drive up there tomorrow. I'll be the short guy with glasses and a white cane there, and binoculars on a string around my neck. I'll be wearing my Mid Ohio, short-sleeve shirt for Saturday, and probably my Watkins Glen, long-sleeve tee for Sunday, to keep my arms out of the sun a bit.
I guess I won't know the grid possibly until Saturday morning, but oh well. I'll probably station myself right at the chain-link on the infield side on the approach to Turn 4 for the start. I'm sure the hillside overlooking Turns 4-6 will be packed. |

There goes the championship battle. I hope the team can rebuild in time for the next race. The team has progressed so far in just a years time.
Sad to see the car destroyed. At least I got to see it go out on top winning at Lime Rock. |

I find it interesting that "something broke" on the car, first part failure that I have heard of with these cars. As for the championship...Well looks like its a LOCK for Highcroft, even with the DNS, Muscle Milk will likely keep second place, I just don't trust Drayson or Dyson. Together they have too many DNF's with NO POINTS (not finishing 70%) to be taken seriously. For the race itself let's hope the others put up a bit of a fight otherwise it will be lonely at the front... |

This is the only RS Spyder running and Porsche made it an exception. It will also end at the end of this year. Porsche's choice. |

Question...........
Just checked my login for the live stream on the ALMS site (not great at remembering 'occasional' passwords ), but on the page with the viewer got the message 'Subscription failed: livestream'. Is everyone getting this message at the moment, or is there a problem with my login/account? Thanks. |

I just logged in again (which I have done repeatedly, just in case) and there doesn't seem to be an issue for me. It shows the Laguna race on the link but the "TODOCast" live events list shows the Mid-Ohio round for Saturday. I think I am in the right place... |
