1-2 for Subaru. Some people will be so unhappy seeing Plato up there 😂😂
Jelley in the Top 10 shows that RWD cars are so strong here. I'm a bit surprised to see Goff way way down the order. And, as I'd expected, Simpson nowhere near top pace. |

That stinks, but I'm not surprised.... An absolute scandal. What an embarrassment.

Not really that surprised to see the Scoobys up there, but well done Jelley on getting in the top ten. Shocker by all three Eurotech cars
Plato actually admitting he doesn’t push as hard when he’s well down the bottom end of the grid. I’m sure that will please Mr Scott knowing his star driver is not giving it his all unlike, Mr Sutton |

No ballast, new front aero, 7bhp increase in boost ( I assume Swindon had also sorted out the crankshaft weakness too) RWD circuit. Seems fairly reasonable to be able to move from the back to the front.
Plato did cook his engine though so tomorrow may bring some more reliability woes. |

Not much risk of the support races rivaling the main attraction is there? The Ecoboost 'race ' was dire- 13 cars making a white noise drone and most ran at least a second apart. Somebody thought of overtaking the guy in front once but thought better of it.
I suspect the crowd wouldn't know what hit them if a 36 car grid of FF1600s appeared - but there again I suspect most only watch BTCC |

I think they have just turned around their fortunes, at least for Croft. I don't know why people seem to think car that X can't be fast or car Y can be good at one circuit and not another. Anyway their speed traps are down by 3mph since 2016 (last dry qually) so read into that what you will. Just look at when TD are near the back at croft, people never say they've done a bad job, it always down to not being a FWD track while ignoring the many FWDs in front of them. The Fords seem to have more boost this year but they can race at the front with out complaints. I'm in no way a Plato/Sutton/BMR fan but there does seem to be hate for the sake of it.

Exactly the same at the British GP; the second that the F1 qualifying finishes, it almost as if the ground opens up and swallows all the spectators. What they don't know or realise is that the spectacle from the races that follow on are far more thrilling than anything that the F1 cars can produce, and you even see cars overtaking! |

Plato and Sutton aren't showing as anything special in the speed traps although they are off the absolute bottom now.

If nothing else it shows the old man can peddle competitively; when fired up he is close to Sutton. I haven't really doubted that - but have thought he's well off from his best form this last 18 months.
Uncle Gow has presumably been up to some shenanigans given the Subaru pace and Jelley showing proper speed for the first time since his BTCC return. I don't credibly think Swindon/ Subaru have flipped a magic switch. My money is still saying BMW - especially Colin - to fly off into the distance once some ballast is removed. That's right. They said at the start of the broadcast that Team Parker and BMR had both been given increased boost (200 millibars I believe they said) worth 5 to 7 bhp.

Are TPR still using the older generation 2016 BMW engine?

Missed all the action today and came home to a very unusual result.
Don't want to say anything but does seem very strange for one team to go from last to first and others go from first to last. So far all R1 poles have led to a win, so it's finally looking good for Sutton. Starting to get sick of these Subarus though and all the arguments they seem to cause. |

Well unlike some on here i am happy that the subaru's have suddenly found something the whole reason i like btcc is that different cars win and the racing is close and exciting.

“There is now a little bit of performance increase from the engine but we are on the ragged edge with it – it’s so fragile. But everyone is working hard and we know that at some point, be that tomorrow or whenever, the planets will align and we’ll be on top.”

could be ironic that Honda engine got another boost cut and this time not due TD success but Eurotech one ????
they are all so down the order Eurotech 26, 27 and 28 are way way too down for them !!! the TD did only marginally better 15 and 20 by comparison Tingram managed 5th with all that weight, something smells rotten fish here Last edited by porsche962fan; 23 Jun 2018 at 20:53. |

Is there somewhere you can go where it states all the weights the drivers are on for Quali and race 1?

I'm assuming this is the Tim Harvey, which might give us a bit more clarity on things.
Ultimately, like them or loathe them (and I think we're all agreed that we like watching Sutton) there is no way that him and Jason should be battling for 20th+ position. The big question mark today will be reliability. Three races in a short space of time. |

I believe they are shown on the warm up lap for the races, and I think pretty early on in the qualifying broadcast. Not sure if it's stated before that but it's fairly easy to work out from the top 10 in the championship + RWD
