Prema and Fortec used to be in F3000, shame they're not in GP2/GP3.
Good luck with Macau (bad memories for what happened to Norberto Fontana there). |

So the Macau Grand Prix features:
o- The top 12 drivers in FIA European F3. o- Japan F3's Yamashita (2nd) and Takaboshi (3rd), but not Matsushita (champion) or Katsuta (4th). o- British F3 champion Martin Cao, but not runner-up Matt Rao. o- German F3 Pommer (champion) and MacLeod (4th), but not Nabil Jeffri or Indy Dontje. o- Euroformula Open's Alex Palou (4th), but not Stuvik (champion) or Janosz (2nd). o- Roberto Merhi and Stefano Coletto, but no Gp3 driver. |

It's a shame that Lynn won't defend his title, Verstappen vs Lynn would have made for an interesting intra-Red Bull rivalry! Especially with Lynn having a shot for a Toro Rosso ride next year.
Anyway I reckon it's gonna be between Verstappen and Ocon. Not a very smart pick I know. But Verstappen was clearly good at adapting to new tracks, especially big attachement tracks like Spa. And Ocon had a really positive Macau in 2013. Historically Rosenqvist has been quite fast around there, I wonder if he can salvage something out of this difficult season? Also, we've always had some fast Macau rookies over the past few years, who the wildcard(s) are gonna be this year? Obviously Verstappen, but I also fancy the chances of Fuoco, maybe even Dennis, as long as they keep it out of the armco of course. |

This was the entry list from 21 October: http://www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo/gp...nt=124&race=27
It's not updated, so I don't know if there is anything new about drivers/teams...Does someone know something? |

if you planning to watch this on TV you need BT Sport at 5.45am on Saturday for the 10 lap race and 7.30am for the main race on Sunday next weekend. if planning to record you know the drill just add a extra bit of time fi we have a track blockage.
and a rare happy me on Macau F3 GP weekend |

Yeah its great BT Sport picked up the coverage this year, even Eurosport added live coverage of the bike race. Just need to GT race to be shown now!
Infact they are showing the GT race directly after the F3 race, wont be live but at least its coverage. |

Rosenqvist on pole. But Nick Cassidy, wow. Impressed also by Pommer and Palou (he's better than most think imo, I rate him very highly). I'm also very pleased to say that Dan Wells isn't last after Q2! He may not be at Ocon's level but he's pretty handy, giving a certain Antonio Giovinazzi a title chase in FPC (nor FMCS) back in 2012. Very pleased, effort does have some reward.

Qualifying race just finished. Pretty decent for a street race. Nice moves from the poleman after getting shuffled down to 3rd at the start.

Looks like Rosenqvist and Auer are intent to steal the headlines from Ocon and Verstappen heading into the Winter. This can only be good for their careers, especially seeing as Verstappen and Ocon have/nearly have deals done for 2015 already. Again though, Nick Cassidy is surely worth some attention. Shame about his budgetary restrictions...

Cassidy would be better off pursuing a career in V8s or GT racing at this point. Too much money and politics involved in getting an F1 drive.

Which means that since he was 14 years old he raced around 26 races per season. He is doing some good showing but we need to see him stepping up to gp3 in order to get a clear picture of him. Interesting stat though the average number of race starts in car racing in that Top 10 in qualy race is quite big bar Ocon is quite big. The average number of race start in car racing for that group is 185 race starts, which is huge. There is a real reward for experience. Frankly Verstappen level is astonishing,Ocon is outstanding,Ferrucci is amazing and Fuoco is quite good. |

There are also Porsche and utes in Australia to start a tin top career. Maybe he can get through to WEC eventually. I wonder if VW could give Tom Blomqvist a rally car test in an S2000 Skoda? |
