I was sceptical that moving the event to GT3 would be a good move but the entry is incredible.

wow indeed, even Manthey in there in one guise - I keep looking at the list and seeing new surprises each time - good to see a few of the British GT contingent getting over there too.
Only slight disappointment is how few GT4 cars there are, particularly as there's three M3s on the reserve list, but overall that's fantastic. I was skeptical when they dropped GT2, but the Pro lineups and variation in this field are still making it interesting. Will get my train tickets booked ASAP! |

Wow, epic entrylist and there's a waiting list as well (not surprised at high numbers but the need for a waiting list is a really good sign) . Good to see two prams entered as well as both Schubert Z4s, and Manthey. No Nissan but certainly doesnt take away from how good this list is. Bodes well for an interesting race.

There is a brand of baby pram called "Maclaren", and the new MP4-12C GT3 is on the Spa entry list as a "Maclaren". It should be a "McLaren".
(As someone with a Scottish "Mc" surname, this sort of thing happens to me all the time!) |

I'm guessing interweb TV is the order of the day, but any details on how it will be covered (commentary times and/or just camera feeds)
Full coverage I am guessing is a pipe dream |

Never thought the word actually came from the name of a pram. |

You won't get any coverage from night, 'cause SRO always turns the cameras off well before the sun is set. Your best bet is (partial) streaming from the start to early dusk, and from 8AM/10AM? to podium ceremonies. Sometimes there's a stationary camera on top of Eau Rouge while the TV feed is off.

There´s only room for three separate lines in your signature, and I only count the ones that were win by factory outfit (Larbre being the obvious expection now). Daytona ´01 would be there as well if I had more than this limited space.

Correct. A total of 11 hours of coverage, which will probably lead to 10 hours of actual live coverage (taking off the time for highlights and commercial breaks)

Looks like there'll be a rule that requires a pitstop every 65 minutes at Spa...
And tires seem to be in short supply, with neither Michelin nor Dunlop being able to produce enough tires for the whole field... d'oh! Source |

just when you think SRO might get something right for once......
I can see what they're trying to do with that rule in reducing costs, but still takes away a key aspect of endurance racing and the key that made the first round at Monza such a thrilling race. |

I thought a bit about the tire situation for a bit. The problem, I think, is that there's a BoP for tires as well as cars in GT3 and so far only Michelin and Dunlop have submitted their tires for this.
IIRC last year Hankook wanted Farnbacher to race at Spa but couldn't get their tires approved in time, so any manufacturer that it trying to submit tires for BoP now is probably too late. |
