Yes the grid was small, but please remeber this is only the beging of the season.Meny potental entires are probarbly still being finished or brought out of winter storage. This championship is open to almost any sportscar going. We just need to start to spread the word among other catagories as the grids will grow.
Britsporst biggest problem is it is a brand new challange.People just need to relise what James offer racers is what they all want.Long races for a stupidly low cost open to almost any sportcar they can get their hands on.With two drivers the cost is even lower.

Just an idea James,Why not put a message in the racer forum I'm sure loads of potental people with eligable cars look for other races to enter. You might get a few extra entries that way. That would pass the word in the right area then.

Fine John - but 14 entries seemed to disappear overnight. That's what puzzled me.

I know that Ian,It seams that all the missing people were radical races for some reason.I know that 2 entire were unable to come that were not radical. The car that crashed friday at Brands and another that was written off in testing at snet I belive, both will hopefully be out later in the year.As for the Radical I have no idea why so meny were no show.

re: no-shows

are they paying to enter and not turning up? seems bizarre as I think the entry is about £700.

All I can say is I am planning to marshal at the rounds BARC are advertising for Pembrey as part of a holiday. If, nearer the time, I find I'm going to be doing a long race with a low number of cars, I'll spend extra time exploring the area. I was bored witless by a long uniroyal beetle race last year with half a dozen cars it it - never again!

BTW John - not all marshals are backseat racers - I just love watching!!! I've been offered drives, and turned them down as it does not appeal at all!

The no shows must have more money than you or me to throw around.I am sure James will be able to say if they are paided up or not.
Dont wory Skyredbutton only Britcar are running at Pembrey.Should be atleast 20 plus entires for them.Britcar has a huge entry for most rounds so there should be plnty of good racing.

I marshalled on Saturday and I have to say that I wish the drivers had opted to join togther the Britsports and Avon 100 they weren't the most enthralling endurance races to marshal!! I'm pleased that until numbers are up they are going to be together. The whole concept is great and I hope that both championships prosper over the season.

Regarding the 14 Britsports that apparently disappeared overnight, a closer look at the entry list would have revealed that those 14 were not allocated garage numbers, which was a fair indication of them not turning up. What was listed were those that had expressed an interest.

A fair point Steve.Hopefully the next time Britsport and Goldarts Avon 100 run a few more teams will express more than an intrest and come out to play.

Perhaps it would be more useful if actual committed entries were posted, not speculative enquiries.

Another championship that favoured this approach to entry lists was Eurocar. Enough said.

I couldn't believe my eyes!...I saw this at Brands...yes its the new Jade Hovercraft...seen here with officials trying to keep it down in case it flew away without the driver...apparently its an idea of Mr.Tuckers to get the crowds back!

Looks like Gird numberes are on the up.James says he is confident of 23+ entires for the Pembery rounds.Hope this is just the start of a surge of entires for it.Britsports and Goldarts 100 both desirve to be a sucess.

Thanks for the support Mirror Man now lets start to really spread the word.I hope the grids will swell as they didlast year to 30 + levels.Where else can GRP C and LMP's mix it with the staple sports car of clubbies like Radical and with night races too!
