SNH should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
last time Birmingham had the SuperPrixs they were fined by the FIA cos some morons wrecked some of the barriers. The event was losing money for a few years. It was a great event and would have gone into the black after a few years. As a West Midlander, I think it should've carried on, it was good for the area to get something big at last.
Bring it back! Be good to link it up with the new Bull Ring..
An Act of Parliament had to be modified to allow the race as racing on the streets was banned a long time ago.

I've just found this amazing website containing ciruits around the world, and it has photos showing Birmingham today compared to the circuit layout.

And yes, there are still some postholes......

Muppet should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
From memory they were looking at extending the circuit by going straight on at turn 1 and then looping back to the roundabout at turn 2.

1988 stands out as a "wierd moment" with Russell Spence's car being craned away with driver still aboard who then frantically waved his arms and the crane operator plonked him back onto the middle of the track!! Mr Spence was not a popular bunny with us midlands marshals...

I hope they revive the race but with something more public-friendly like touring cars, SCV8 or GTs.

;-)
