I can't help but thinking if it were anyone else's car, but Whincup's, that had been destroyed we wouldn't be having this discussion. Seems like the Fordies are the ones having the discussion. The Holden boys are too busy laughing to care.

what if holden & ford each built 2 cars and had a system where a team colud lend one up untill the start of the first race

Perhaps a spare is not a good idea.....

It could develop a mindset of disposable cars and lead to more cars in the wall.

We're already seeing drivers show the utmost disrespect for other drivers, bystanders and panel beaters.

Interesting to read this

If other rumours are true was this a last ditch gesture ??

“But if we started doing that it would set up a precedent whereby teams would set themselves up with sub-teams who are running around just to be ready to put a main driver in if they have a problem. That's not something that's desirable for the championship.
“In order to have done it, it would have needed the cooperation of V8 Supercars Australia anyway. As I read the rulebook I could have tried to do it and we would have had a legitimate case under the strict rules as they.
“If another driver was ill or could not fulfill his obligations to race then maybe that would have opened an opportunity for Jamie. But it would not have been in the best interests of V8 Supercars as a championship.”

"Best interests of the championship" never entered the mind of Walkinshoddy and his band of merry men in the past (actually following any rules has never really been an issue for them either) ... frankly, I thought they should have made Lowndes sacrifice the weekend rather than JW.

If you can afford a spare car, you should be allowed to use it.

You just missed my point.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do"

Behavioural outlook. Some act in the spirit of the law, some please themselves.

Change the name Whincup to Kelly and tell me if you think Paul Dumbrell would have been driving at Hamilton ...

Don't worry, we all got your point loud and clear.

Its irrelevant about 'what if'

Also, don't confuse 'law' with 'rules'
