Surprised they're not making Scotty race without a rear wing given his level of dominance lately. Really cutting that mustard nicely. Needs to go have a go at NASCAR.

Looks like Tickford have early pace (waiting for the tinfoil wearing keyboard warriors slamming both the 'Stang and the new Commodore areo) and Scotty Mac has had some dramas with his Mustang. Shall be interesting later on today.

When 888 allows a wheel to fall off, and then successfully lobbies for subsequent Opel aero revisions/nobbling of the Mustang; you know something is not quite right with the series.

Has Techno packed up for the year already, the longer the year goes the further off the pace LeBroq is. He isn't that slow.

Can't helpü myself but I think that race is boring.
Larko thinks the strategy is interesting but I miss the track action. |

I've never really commented too much on the commentary, but today was truly terrible. The duck jokes, the kiwi cracks, the inability to notice a change for the lead when Whincup went around Coulthard, it was terrible today.
And the free kick Whincup got by getting his penalty post race allowing him to run around in fresh air while the bloke on the end of his poor passing attempt, Percat had to battle from the back of the field staggers me. It was as obvious as the nose on your face he was going to cop a penalty, why wait until after the podium to hand it down? |

Should have been dealt with in the race, if it was as clear-cut as everyone is making it out to be.

The biggest surprise today was that Macaulay Jones had sufficient pace to exceed the pit lane speed limit.

Loos like Jamie overtook the Safetycar and that made a lot of confusion for the rest of the field. When the SC came out Holdsworth was 2nd now he is 10th because he did not overtake the SC.
Lets see if tere will be a fine for the 88. But that does not help Holdsworth |

SHANE WINS THE JR TROPHY!!!
Scotty Mac get's the Sunday race win and SVG gets the overall weekend. Awesome to see Jason's daughters and his Dad on the podium to hand over the JR Trophy.

The silly thing is that the order could have been reset while under the Safety Car, but it is difficult not to draw the conclusion that Race Control had no idea Whincup had overtaken the Safety Car until the replays appeared on the TV.
But the only fair outcome is to declare the race null and void. |

And a drive through penalty is hardly sufficient penalty for a driver who willfully ignored the instructions of an official.
But while we still wait for penalties for drivers that crash into fellow competitors under safety car conditions or set the pit lane on fire I won't be holding my breath. |
