On one side it's good to have such a race in Belgium.
On the other hand people seem to forget it's not that easy to create a proper rallycross track. Look at GRC who are just able to build bad tracks. More over it's a pitty that the regular track in Belgium (Devils hill) is one of the best rallycross tracks we have in Europe and cannot be used. |

Tommy Rustad will race next year in the European RX and as many world RX races as possible. He will drive the Volvo C30 he used in Sweden and Norway

Surprised nobody else has picked up on this but Autosport have an article suggesting that one of the rounds outside Europe will be in Canada at the Trois Rivieres Grand Prix. Link below -

Hmmm, not sure about that - assuming 'Depart' is 'start' that's a very short run to the first corner pile up. Also those chicanes don't seem like a good idea, from the look of them on that map they're basically a stack of tyres (so a typical single venue rally chicane) - fine for one car at a time but a pack? That's got damage written all over it. If you're designing a circuit from scratch you shouldn't need to put mickey mouse chicanes in surely? I guess we'll have to wait and see what it looks like in the flesh but first impressions aren't good.

Three jumps.
I assume the oval part has dirt. |

WRX
I wonder what FIA think’s about jumps these days? Given that they forced Höljes to lowering their famous jump a few years ago?
While we're on the topic. What do you think about jumps in Rallycross. Do they raises the entertainment value or is it just an X-Games stunt that does not contribute to anything? |

A quick estimate I would guess the track is about 1500 metres, about the size of Lydden Hill. |

So what is the point of the chicanes? At first sight it seems solely to cause damage and give the Canadian casual viewer (not sure how many rallycross fans there are in Canada) what they probably want to see.
My guess is they will disappear pretty quickly if the drivers don't like them. 3 jumps seems to me to be a little overkill and also seems to be a very long joker section. I assume their will be some kind of trial event first so that they don't end up with some of the situations we have seen in the GRC and X-Games where tracks have been either poorly prepared, dangerous or totally unsuitable for rallycross. |

I find the Holjes jumps are brilliant now. There isn't much 'airtime' but what is good about them is that they are technical challenging to the drivers. Right after the landing they have to break and steer. Every little bit of a error costs time, the bigger the error, the more time it costs.
And that without being (very) dangerous. Should every track have jumps? I don't think so. Like the jokerlap implementation gone 'wrong' in some tracks, the same will be the case when track owners will be forced to build jumps. |

I prefer low but high speed jumps over the big slow jumps like in GRC.
And I rather see jumps that are a natural part of the track. |

There were rumors that Citroen might pull out of the WRC and shut the whole project down, which would mean they wouldn't get support from Citroen. So Citroen being a part of PSA and Peugeot, Peugeot was the plan B. One car for TT and one for Timmy Hansen. Hvaal pulled out and might race along with Solberg. Though now when Citroen is still to compete in the WRC, I don't know how the plans will unfold

Hvaal could be the number 2 with Solberg? Interesting, though I guess he would need deep pockets for that, and he has already stated he is struggling to find the budget for next year, isn't he?

Alexander Hvaal is not related to Tom Hvaal? He (or his company) is putting a lot of money in rallycross. |
