Looking forward to see Janis, Kouzkin and especially Martinez in the car!
But the list is a bit disappointing I think... many drivers I haven't even heard of and no sign of Bruno Mendez. |

Nicola De Marco also very fast driver - he is better than his 10th place in formula2 shows.

Ben Anderson? Is he the guy from Autosport who seems to test stuff alot? And is Jan Charouz making a concerted effort to get back into single seaters? Already done a few days in GP2 this winter. Alot of unknowns on that list too

Hmmm not sure what to make of it, I've heard of 7 of those guys (8 if Ben Anderson DOES turn out to be the guy from Autosport lol), and none of them have impressed consistantly, which I suppose is why they are trying for Auto GP and not GP2, which a couple of them have already done.
I like the car though, and great drivers don't always make for enjoyable racing, so may be worth a look. |

Charouz will probably race in WSR next year with the Czech ISR team I would think, so I'm guessing these tests are keeping him in shape and allowing him to get back into the groove of single seater driving. Nothing confirmed yet though.
Disappointing list yes, I expected a few more high profile names, like some drivers from GP2, A1GP, WSR etc. |

First day of testing yesterday but italiaracing don't have the times. One of the guys testing today, Ettore Bassi, is an actor!

What is unbelievably annoying is that unless dates change again Auto GP will clash with the WSbR meeting at Silverstone. Here is the Auto GP calendar as it stands today: Auto GP 2010 11 April - Imola 23 May - Portimão 27 June - Spa 11 July - Magny Cours 19 September - Brands Hatch 3 October - Monza |

AutoGP.org have signed a sponsorship deal with FSR (formula-simracing) where the top 3 in the world championship class will get to test the car, plus other awesome prizes. It's great because im in FSR, so it's going to be an exciting year!

This will be interesting, there's a similar scheme - V1 Championship with a promise for FBMW EU season with Fortec, but I don't think their championship has enough signed up online drivers...

The Auto GP calendar has changed again, with Portimao and Imola now on the same dates as F3 Open/GT Open:
Auto GP 2010 18 April - Portimão 23 May - Imola 27 June - Spa 11 July - Magny Cours 19 September - Brands Hatch 03 October - Monza |

I've just noticed that the F3 Open Jarama race clashes with the Zandvoort Masters, just like F3 Euroseries Lausitz round. Perhaps it's Zandvoort who should move their race, shouldn't they?

Edoardo Piscopo looks like becoming one of the first drivers to sign up for the championship this year. Auto GP will be very interesting to watch in 2010. It's got the right ingredients - a powerfull car, a good mix of tracks, established motorsport teams like Super Nova, DAMS etc. not to mention the huge prize fund. And looking through the website, it looks as though they've got the marketing and PR side of the series well and truly nailed too. |

It certainly is looking a lot more interesting now, very professional new website too. There was no shortage of driving talent last year, just lacking in numbers, hopefully that will change with GP2 team involvement. Aren't they adding modifications to the car to make it even quicker? It already compares favourable to Superleague and WSR lap times. I was speaking to Will Bratt today who won last year's series, and he said the car was awesome to drive and actually prefers driving it to GP2! Much heavier steering with very similar power, not as precise as GP2 or F3 through the corners. And he said the Michelins they use are much more durable than the Bridgestone GP2 tyres, which are ruined after 10 laps in Abu Dhabi if you use trail braking into the corners etc.
