Karam spins bringing out what could be a race changing yellow.

Wow. Rahal could win this one and Montoya's down the order. Really lucky break on the yellow for Rahal.

This business of hiding the number of push-to-passes remaining is idiotic.

The 4th caution and 10 laps to go; bad timing.

Congrats to Graham Rahal, what a superb drive. I don't think Honda need worry anymore, especially with Justin Wilson in 2nd place. Great finish for Hawksworth.

Bah. Montoya implies Sage Karam spun on purpose. Sore loser.

Well done Rahal. Not inconceivable he could win the big one which certainly stands in contrast to the wicked luck that used to dog him not so long ago.
Fair juice to NBC for showing both live. Hobbs commentating always brings me back to a time when racing was rich and raw. |

Great story for the Rayhalls (lites winner) and Rahals today.
The cars put on a great road course show. |

Great race, at a great track, with a great crowd and a great story. I've got to get back to Mid-Ohio. It's great.

Excellent stuff from Rahal. Very opportunistic for him, great crowd, perfect track for IndyCars and what a good story/race for them. What a season for him and the team.
I'll go with you and wave a U of M Flag. To hell with the Buckeyes but I do love me some Steak n Shake. |

I got bored by the lack of overtaking, and saddened that Montoya got caught by the pace car after Karam's spin.
But anyway, can't wait for Pocono. |

So what do we think about Karam. Did he or didn't he spin on command?

Would a team owner with Ganassi's legacy really ask one of his drivers to spin deliberately? The spin affected Montoya directly but apart from that what advantage did Scott Dixon or Tony Kanaan gain from this as they had already pitted?

Why not? Andretti did the same with Herta years ago at Sears Point to get Micro his first.

Mid-Ohio is a difficult track to overtake on. I'd be more inclined to believe this was deliberate if it had lead to Dixon or Kanaan winning, like Nelson Piquet Jr's crash at Singapore in 2009, resulting in Alonso's win. However, Dixon or Kanaan finished 4th and 5th. Also, I'd hate to think Ganassi has now found it necessary to stoop to the level of Briatore.

I think Sage is great, but he's still in his full rookie season. Rookies, like veterans make mistakes, especially tight circuits. They also are more than likely, as a junior driver, to do as they're told.
I'd like to think there's plenty of gamesmanship that goes on in racing that I am not privy to but wouldn't this have been heard on the radio by someone? How would one "code" this message? I guess I'd like some proof, rather than hearsay. |
