Anyways back to the point of this great news.

I love how Vesa gets rejected and its TC that puts them on probation.

Then threatening to leave one of the most successful event it participates in

So, a list of States/Territories which have told V8$A to **** off: ACT, NSW, WA, QLD. VIC has a GP, so wouldnt be interested. SA (Clipsal), NT (Hidden Valley), TAS (Symmons) + Gold Coast already have races. By my maths that makes nowhere else to turn. So now, if TC is to continue to make his millions (note I didnt say the teams) its like F1, where you have to be a country to afford it. Bahrain may just be the start. Just what we need, loads more overseas races that no-one gets to see (those of you who read MN should check out p25 opinion on Bahrain from Lambden - spot on).

VESA need to get their funds to the point where they can fund there own street races. Casual events crowds won't show at race track meetings, and the crowds add prestige to the series and generate more $$$, allowing for more street races and so on.

You believe any such event would produce a cash surplus ..... what about the cost of the infrastructure?
Did I not understand?

All it means is that real circuits have more chance of a V8 Supercar race...

They could be back at Mallala, Lakeside and Baskerville at this rate...

Seems stupid for mr. cochrane to box himself in like that, australia is only so big and the number of options for future races is limited.

To use one of the lines from Footrot Flats, if he hasn't bitten the hand then he definitely gave it a strong suck!

Or to put it another way: "Ner-ner-na-ner-ner. It's my ball and I'm taking it home." I suspect Surfer's will continue happily without V8s in much the same way Albert Park will. Unfortunately, both events would be stronger still with them, and the V8 profile would be much higher too. Being seen as the category to support both major international events as well as the biggest national (Bathurst) event - also well known world wide - has to be better for them long term, if only because of sponsor exposure.

I wonder if Mr Ireland and his band of followers will now try to get a permanent circuit built for the north, something that could be used 365 days a year. It would be much more beneficial not only to motorsport but driver training etc and when race meetings are on up there people would still travel a fair distance to attend a meeting.

dont think anybody will suffer infact just the opposite as for every million the cochroach and his buddies put in they take out at least two and a half million, remember who pays to put these events on its not the cochroach thats for sure
