Jones got past by Dixon. Unfortunately we didn't see it, because we needed to watch ads instead.

I thought the race was going to go yellow, when Ferruci lost it but no.

Blimey, Bourdais was lucky not to completely lose it but he's going to have to pit.
I wonder if this is related to his 2nd Lap incident? |

Congrats to RH-R on a well deserved win, his first since Pocono in 2015, that's not to take anything away from Rossi.

Race 2 result:
Like Race 1 Honda dominated. Chevy salvaged a little pride with Power's second place, though that was due to Rossi taking himself out of contention. He was second in the driver's championship, before this weekend but drops down to third. Good to see Racer had the video for us, bit much throttle there.
And hilarious to see HPD tweet a fun response to the Vette spinning instead of something mean. https://racer.com/2018/06/03/pace-ca...al-in-detroit/ Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk |

Wow, RHR was on an absolute mission there. Newer tires than Rossi to be sure, but even so, he was absolutely blazing along. Enjoyed seeing him win, it's been a long time since his last one.

Agree with the comment about helmets. Silly not to wear them. Pace car speed isn't exactly slow after all. |

I doubt there are 5 ZR1's laying around, I bet they had those two. That car is brand new and in high demand. Pace car speeds are nothing like a safety car in F1. In this case Mr. Reuss was being a Billy Badass.
The biggest crime in this whole debacle is surely the chrome wheels. Damnit GM, cut it out. Also the race was pretty good for a street circuit! |

Aside from the pace car incident, I thought that was an excellent race.
Passing wasn't exactly at a premium but there were some great moves and mostly well earned. RHR looked like a man possessed through most of the weekend. Thankfully a comparative lack of cautions helped the strategies play out. |

Think GM needs to rethink their internal driver ratings, apparently he holds GM's highest driver classification. Oh and an FIA Class C license but hey making that Vroom-Vroom noise is fun.
Zoom-Zoom might have made the corner but caught fire before finishing (Not a yule log but closest thing to a Mazda turbo fire I could find) |

"The car's safety systems performed as expected."
Translation: the airbags went off when it crashed. Good to know. |

Finally finished the second race last night, but saw the pace car had crashed 2 days ago via national news and the socials.
Rossi was highly POed at the end of race 2 and when asked what happened, he said "ask these guys", pointing at his crew. At first, I thought "you terd", but then recalled the massive front wing change made on the last stop. He obviously slowed while RHR picked up the pace. Team mistake or shall I grab my tinfoil hat? Congrats to Dixon. Made race 1 look easy!! |
