A Ka Roadster? Interesting- didn't Ford show that as a concept a few years back? Looked like a dodgem, but if they keep the price at a similar level to the roofed version it would make a good cheap convertable runabout!

Whoop!! There it is!!
Now, am I alone in thinking that's not a bad looking car?? My only problem with it (saw it at the motorshow) is the rear reverse light and the exhaust pipe. Oh dear. But the rest... it's a snazzy hairdresser's car!! |

Log: exactly. See that centre exhaust?? except it ISN'T. That's the reverse light, the exhaust itself... a little down-turned number by the right-rear wheel. Oh dear.

Where can you get a Ka for only 4995? I thought the list price was a lot more.

Well Steve, that's what I thought, but just ordered one from Thames Valley Ford, in jolly old Slough.
The basic model but I reckon its a snip. The second-hand one's were more expensive! Mega-mega-deals on at the mo - must be needing to shift their quota! Brand new, not a demonstrator or ex-hire! Black metallic. New 1.3i engine. PAS. Coke can holder in the door! Wierd, had to do a video conferencing session with Ford's headquarters at the showroom, having bought the thing. 'Jumpy' bloke on a screen tried to flog me tyre insurance, GAP insurance to meet the underpay by the insurers in the event of a claim and 3 year spray polish finish. IMO an expensive way of selling bees wax! |

Watch out mate, I know of a few dodgy salons in Narrwich - who I could ring up and ask them to send 'the boys' round!
PS Good win for the lads at the weekend! |

Anyway. Kas. Yip, I like 'em. Good cars!! *ducks* |

Good to see the Binmen stutter a bit. Was just bracing myself for a depressing overtaking manoever.
Still I suppose they are relying on an ex-canary! |

I might get a Ka as well. Our old car is past its best, and my wife mainly uses it for driving around town.

Seems to be one of those situations where you have to consider function over form. It is an ugly little beast (although some more recent creations make it look good!) but it dosn't break the bank and it seems to serve it's 'small runabout town car' purpose very well from what I hear.

Had the misfortune of being lent a KA today whilst my car was being serviced. Think it must have been a Calvin Klein limited edition. Couldn't find the decal but it was definately KAck.
I expect a cheap small car to rattle a little but my old 2CV was less of a tin box. As for the brakes, obviously optional extras on this model. Push the pedal to the floor and pray it will stop eventually. |

My wife has a Ford Ka of the 2001 vintage and admitidely it does have alloy wheels,cd player and air con so it's not a base model..
She loves it ... I drive it now and again and have to say it is a hoot to drive.. Even more so on the way to somewhere like Shelsley Walsh, down the lanes where power is not an issue...Chuck it into a bend and it grips like a leech..It shows a clean pair of heels to much more expensive machinery.. People are right,it does sound harsh when pushed a bit in the gears but after all it is just an old ohv engine with fuel injection.. Having said that I regularly sit on the m-way at 90mph and it doesn't struggle ......Till you come to a hill.... |

The first time they arrived here the media just bagged them and the Ford dealers are giving them away as they are not selling.
Personal I think they look like a pregnant roller skate. |
