CERRRUMP!!!

Big off for Soucek out of Stowe, sure to bring out the SC. Shame he was doing a good job although slightly holing up a couple of people, Petrov passed him for 5th and then Kobayashi who is also flying just got by as well.

This weekend's really put the fizz back into the series!!!

Superb powerhouse of a drive from Bruno this morning. He really is quite good in the wet isn't he!

Di Grassi picks up more points, and could now be the dark horse for the title, Pantano a sensible 3rd, Conway 4th, Petrov 5th and Kobayashi, I think, classified 6th despite a ridiculous shunt at Bridge on the last lap when Valles spun and collected him and then Maldonado arrived and just tried to shunt the hapless Adrian out of the way!!! Hilarious....

Bruno proudly shown why the circuit was called once the Silvastone... and again Lucas showed a superb work collecting point for Campos. Hope Maldonado could do it better at Hockenheim, the Venezuelan is a bit impulsive but could shown more progress if he took it calmly.
Thanks chunterer for the infos about the Sprint race!

Great race by Senna; he was good in the rain in British F3 too.

Di Grassi is doing his reputation no harm at all since he rejoined the series. As for Asmer, he looks out of his depth.

A mention for the marshals, they did an exceptional job to keep the race green throughout, especially when recovering Soucek and Villa.

Asmer will be a winner in GP2, in 2014. By which time all the decent drivers will have moved away.

That was a really classy drive by Bruno. Ironically, it was Mike Conway who showed him the fast line around Silverstone back in their F3 days.

I was pretty disappointed by his scrappy drive yesterday, but I think it was another part of the learning experience - the wind at Silverstone can really affect the cars' handling. The car didn't look very good either, but maybe the tyres were worn.

Di Grassi is doing the same as he did last year, which is stack up the points race-by-race, and it's good to have him back as a yardstick.

As Charlies said, the Marshals did a great job.

Senna may have made a mistake in the first race but came back with a great drive in the second, Sennas future in F1 is already assured IMO with Dennis/Williams and Berger all having an emotional attachment to him. Had it not been for cruel luck out of his control he would be walking the championship by now.

After watching Michael Herck's poor driving this weekend, I think he should be removed from his seat.

Somehow I can't see his dad firing him.

That really is the only reason he is in the seat, it's ridiculous. I can't remember, but does his dad own 49% or 51% of DPR? I can't see Dave Price being impressed with his speed and poor car control while battling other drivers in race 1, but the amount of damage he did to the car whilst crashing before the formation lap for race 2 had even started is unforgiveable.

Problem for David Price must've been if he didn't sign Herck Jnr then he didn't get the injection of cash from Herck Snr.

But Soucek's progress in one of DPR's cars towards the end of last season sure seems a long long time ago now doesn't it!

Someone who mightily impressed me as well yesterday was Kamui Kobayashi. From the back upto 5th in race 2. Kazuki Nakajima is looking like a hot shot, but Kamui could be Japan's first F1 superstar in the making.......

both races were very good - one of those sorting the men from the boys events that happens once in a season. gave the f1 a lot to live up to as usual, and it was good to see a healthy crowd watching too.

Great weekend for GP2. Saturday made up for some of the other races. Sunday was mad. Giorgio is looking better and better for the title.

Senna just about made up for the Saturady shambles, with his Sunday drive.

Again some lucky escapes from stalled cars on the grid.

Mega marshals too

Very tongue in cheek ensign14! You are not entirely convinced by his BF3 title then?

Very impressive indeed. I noticed he ended up classified as 7th after the bizarre crash at Bridge on the last lap.

On a general note, has anyone else noticed that the championship standings (Drivers and teams) on the official GP2 site sometimes has some odditites in the positions? I've seen that several times. Right now Mike Conway is in 10th place overall with 15 points ahead of Pastor Maldonado in 11th with 18 points.
