I dunno what types of vehicles you're aiming for with this track, but 2.9 miles (which is about 4.6 km) sounds perfectly all right to me.

I like the track, very business like and serious, my only "change" would be removing the stands directly in front of the straight, you don't want to have a car or bike embedded in the spectators, at 150 mph a mechanical failure or a small contact can send a car/bike flying into the stands, regardless of the run off I see there, you need a clear path in front of your main straight for safety reasons.
