Except, a privateer should still be able to get close on pace for one lap. In LMP1, they're NOT!
And, unfortunately, if racing has become "entertainment", as so many say it has, you simply cannot afford to allow anybody to dominate for long, regardless of the reasons. I don't see a good chance of another factory team joining the fray at this point. If you're going with petrol, Audi has seven years with that, and for diesel, Audi has coming up on five years with that. No factory, Audi included, has made more than a three-year, initial commitment to Le Mans in over a decade. The 1999 R8Rs and R8Cs were testbeds. The first serious program was with the R8 in 2000-2002. Last edited by Purist; 15 Jul 2010 at 23:07. |

yeah that's cool!!!
"Le Mans" style start for the 1000 Km of Algarve competitors For the very first time since the creation of Le Mans Series, drivers will take a start "Le Mans" style. This third round of the season is then the occasion to revive the most glorious time of Endurance. http://www.lemans-series.com/en/s03_....php?news=1425 |

I just realized that qualifying is on the same day as the race. How often does that happen in a pro series?

I hope so, i dont think the 30 minutes Eurosport is showing at 10:30pm is even live. Eurosport seem to have dropped the ball this summer with their motorsport coverage, with less WTCC live, less LMS Live, Less GP2, Less Porsche Supercup etc.

The Lolas and Aston Martin at least appear on the pace so a good race could be in prospect.
Let's hope they push the 908 for the whole race and don't hit reliability troubles. |

AMR Twitter says: 'Both Rebellion cars will start from the back of the grid moving Signature up to second' - doesnt say why though. Hopefully we get a JCB at Silverstone 09 style opening sting
