and, every now and then protocol is dispensed with (sometimes without penalty from Head Office ) when one Flag Point will quickly suggest what needs to be done by others. For example, to alert a point ..."Stationary Yellow 4" |

At Eastern Creek we quite offen have unmaned flag points for many points so it happens that that although we still have line of sight between points run off areas can be a problem.
Our comms are pretty good so we work around the problem however its not ideal. We only ever display a stationary yellow as a warning for a waved yellow sector. For state rounds and the like there is never enough flaggies to do a proper job. |

Jim, reasons to "force" a yellow. The obvious one is where the preceding post cannot judge the distance to an incident in relation to your post. Example, someone pulls off at or just past your post and a stationary yellow is required to sanitise the action. However it is pointless sanitising the track at the incident and beyond to the next post. A forced yellow by means a waved green will sanitise the track up to the incident which is the portion of the track that sanitising. No doubt the preceeding post will have seen the pull off and wondered if the post was asleep because no yellow was flourished.
Bad flag post siting! have you been to Rockingham? Cheers Ian |

I was at a meeting last year where a car went of at the next post, stopping immediately alongside the flag point. The guy there simply took four steps downstream and stuck out the green so that the yellow became mine. Perfect action which I didn't get to thank him for at the time.
