Pretty sure that's the 1986 car, the one that replaced the ex-Luigi car. Did Bondy do the Rallysprint event in 1985 and 1986? Was there one in 1985?

You Alfisti may be able to help me with some research.
CSCC have events at Spa and Nurburgring this year. The cars have to be pre 31st December 1979. Does anyone know if there were any GTV6s sold in the world before 1980? If you have any evidence that these cars were 'seventies' cars it would make my life easier with regards to gaining a race entry. Any help greatly appreciated. Steve Griffin |

Going by the #75 i'd say it's 1986, i think its the one Neil Allport won in his Mazda. |

There were actually three rallysprints run for TV.
1984 They ran up at Blue Range with near stock standard Nissan Bluebirds. Winning car was given away as a prize to the public. Sponsored by JPS. 1985 Run very late in the year. They ran Pipeline both directions. Until I hunt down the photos stashed away I am not sure but believe this was the year Bartlett ran the Camaro. Ran it without the front airdam. This was also the year that Allport ran in his Mazda and the Audi ran. The two photos below are of the Bond race car, and also the Greg Carr rally car that Greg ran the next year in the ARC. 1986 They again ran Pipeline and again were sponsored by Toshiba. The photo posted above is from the 1986 event. By the way, Bond changed to #75 because that is what he ran in '87- an Alfa 75. Bond in the race car 1985 Greg Carr in the rally car. And Carr in the Alpine |

Caroline O'Shaunnesy ran in one of them in Greg Carr's Alfa, perhaps that is who the photo is of? Pretty sure the Bartlett Camaro year was different to the year Allport won I have a JPS sponsored rallysprint from 1984 on tape somewhere, but it features a bunch of Group G rally cars (Stanza's, Mazda RX2, even a TR8), rather than a bunch of Nissan Bluebirds.... |

The navigator in the Alfa at the Alpine was Fred Gocentas. I thought Caroline was in the Fiat. Last edited by malscar; 12 Jul 2008 at 13:20. |

I'm going to have to go for a search now & find the footage I've got memories of a BDA Escort running in one as well, having a lose towards the end of its reverse run... |

Managed to dig out another shot from my archives.
This is one of the Jolly Club cars parked at the rear of the pits after the '84 TT. Suster/Cipriani? Last edited by chunterer; 2 Dec 2008 at 17:22. |

I can't make out whether it says Cipriani or Camathias on the car, but Marcello Cipriani isn't listed against any of the other Alfas at the TT as far as I can see... Team-mates Lombardi/Francia in #55 http://www.racingsportscars.com/etcc...-09-09-055.jpg |

Think there might be another pic of this on one of the links earlier in the thread, but it's the Ray Gulson car in unfamiliar warpaint for the 1986 Nissan-Mobil races in NZ- Gulson shared the car with Ed Lamont, the car wearing ANZ's white colours:

Lots of GTV pics, including the Snobeck cars, the Franz Klammer car and plenty of rally action http://www.alfetta-gtv.ch/dat/rennsp...sportlist.html Last edited by KA; 22 Oct 2008 at 15:28. |

As mentioned in both tihs thread and the '75' thread, the 75 took over from the GTV6 for the '86 season, however the new car was delayed and missed the early-season races. A few GTV6s still turned out though- notably a couple of Luigi cars at Spa, the Australian cars (Bond/Network Alfa, Ray Gulson etc), ARDT in a couple of early season races (BTCC Round 1 and Donington ETCC) and a few Italian entries at Monza- not sure who this is, but it's obviously one of the '85-season Jolly Club cars...
http://www.monzasport.it/public/gall...o/1986-02g.jpg The name of Rufino Fontes popped up in the '75' thread as well, with some pics of a 75 Turbo he campaigned in Portugal in 1987- Here's his earlier GTV6, which apparently still survives http://sportscarclassic.com.sapo.pt/...designVR83.jpg http://scgtclassic.com.sapo.pt/Cabanelas83_c4.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/my.php?i...fino831un6.jpg http://autosport.aeiou.pt/users/12/1206/39ecbecb.jpeg Last edited by KA; 25 Nov 2008 at 16:41. |

Fontes was Portuguese champion in the car in 1983- according to a thread on an Alfa forum, it's a Luigi car from 1982, raced by Fontes in Portugal during 1983-4

New member - old racer
Just discovered some of my Alfa photos referenced here, but I've re-done my Photobucket pages so the existing links will no longer work.
The new link is: http://photobucket.com/Drivers71-Racing I raced the ex-Norris Miles/Peter Buxdorf GTV6 in the AROC Championship in the 90s (Norris won the 1982 Uniflo Production Car championship in it) and can honestly say it was my favorite Alfa of all time and I had several road-going versions. Photo of the car with Norris Miles at Mallory Park 1982; and with me leading the field at a streaming Oulton Park in 1991. Loads more racing GTV6s are on Photobucket, for those interested. Great to see those Rich- and welcome aboard! Norris raced that car for several years didn't he?- Not sure whether he was still running it when I first started spectating in '85, but it definitely rings a bell with me- though that could be from seeing it in Autosport- the GTV6 was always a fairly rare bird in prodsaloons from memory?

Oh alright then, Prodsaloons and Group N are welcome on here as well!!
Nice shots! Thinks the Mallory one cropped up in the prodsaloon thread a few months ago (looks like some particularly hard driving going on there!!) I think I only saw Norris Miles race it once, and that was probably the Unrioyal round at the BRDC finals meet at Silvesrtone in 1984? |
