i went today and was shocked how bad the "spectator pens" were, now granted health and safety now demands that an attempt is made to keep spectators controled for there own safety and lets face it real fans would go off into the forrest and find there own spot away from these areas to watch but christ, you could hardly see anything, not because they were miles away from the road, but it was more because you were behind a treeline made up of dense small trees! makes for great viewing, i found a great spot however!
doesnt exactly make it ideal for first timers who might want to make use of these spectator areas if they cant see anything (especially the kids!) good conditions today though, lots of mud, ruts and slip sliding, the ruts are a pain though, but if they insist on running the stages twice (why not include more stages...) then i think we;re gonna have to get used to watching slotcars as the cars run with wheels in the ruts and the sumpguards scraping the ground! |

The Title Wales Rally GB refers not to the location - but to the main sponsor, it's sponsored by what was the Welsh tourist board - now part of Comrade Morganski's WAG group...
on the seperate point, Despite the best efforts of said Comrade to split wales from the rest of the UK, Wales is still part of great britian so I think it should retain that name. |

I'm rapidly ceasing to care about the WRC... two of the best rallies have gone, San Remo and Safari, and the classics, the RAC, the Monte and the Acropolis are a pathetic shadow of their former selves.
Thanks FIA for killing our great sport. |

I think it's only just hanging in there, both the FIA & the TV companies have got to support it a lot more than they do,i used to go years ago, went for about 6 years on the trot, wouldn't even bother today.
I thought the TV coverage was crap,ITV scrapped together 50 mins & i couldn't even find it on UK Eurosport, what was once a top notch event is now given less time than womens pool & skateboarding. |

Like everything modern, it seems the powers that be think we don't have the attention span we once did, and that everything has to be packed into 30 mins slots (or multiples of), presumeably to make life easy for programme schedules. Are we getting old? Victor Meldrew, where are you??????? |

Good thing the RAC, Acropolis, 1000 Lakes and Tour de Corse have not been in the championship for a number of years now. Instead, we get the Rally of Wales, Rally of Greece, Rally Finland and Rally of France. |

Well, Isn't Silverstone in England? The Home of the BRITISH Grand Prix, I kind of agree and disagree with the orginal point, but it's about right to call it Rally GB.

Absolutely.
It may well be a pale, limp, excruciatingly pointless shadow of it's former self, based in an area of the UK that is disposable but it is still Rally GB, being in Britain and all that. |
