An uneventful start, as Lewis follows Vettel.

Edit: Well that was unexpected for Norris. Ruined a really good start.

Ferrari switches both drivers to Plan B, despite leading? I wonder what Plan A was.

Grosjean's situational awareness is non-existent. He had no idea Perez was there. And then asks for Perez to be reported to race control.

Vettel goes off the track but manages to save it. Pressure getting to him?

Vettels car was still sliding right up to the kerb. I'll be surprised if he's penalised for that one.
Pressure absolutely getting to him. Whatever number he is having to manage (fuel or brake temps), whilst holding off Lewis is quite a big ask. |

The stewards are wasting their time looking at the Vettel return to the track? Really? If anything Lewis needs to smacked in the mouth for crying about it immediately. You tried for a gap that wasn't ever there and then you immediately cry he didn't let you through? Sorry but you're a joke there

5 second penalty for that? Complete bullsh1t and glad to know the stewards want to please MB to every degree. Complete and utter trash and done with F1 now. That's ridiculous

lol, I'm actually shocked.
Lewis will just sit 4 seconds off Vettel now and win. |

That shouldn't have been a penalty. It didn't look deliberate but rather Vettel didn't have full control of the car.

I'm surprised that Lewis is getting so close.

Stroll has done an excellent job today, has to be said.
Vettel is about to end up third. |

Is Vettel protesting by parking with the rest?
Got to say, the Mercedes celebrations feel a bit...poor taste. |

I have to say that my reaction as Vettel rejoined was that it was unsafe......Vettel saying he had no alternative seems to have forgotten that he has an accelerator pedal under his control.......
And Vettel now appears to be on the point of boycotting the ceremony.... |

And moving the No1 board might cost him some money....

-- Lewis seemingly forgets his radio is broadcast. He asked for it to be reported to the stewards. It's then hard to argue you don't know why someone was penalised. Anyway - the only good thing was the tense battle for the lead. And they declared that null and void. So not sure what to think about that race. |

Well he left enough space, just.
Perhaps he should have braked on the grass. Or put more lock on with grassy tyres. Nothing could go wrong. That was funny with the 1st and 2nd marker boards. |

Let's hope so we can't have this kind of amusing interesting show of character in F1 at all. There needs to be a rule about this if there isn't one.
While we are at it, Lewis needs a fine for inviting the second place guy on to the top step of the podium as the anthems start playing. |

Isn't that the point though? For me, that Lewis had to get out of it to avoid Seb coming back onto the track says, ipso facto, that it was an unsafe rejoin. I'm not sure whether it's worth a 5 s penalty though...

Lewis: All I can say is, I didn't make the decision.
This is true. But he did ask for it. |
