I think it's a bit out of order to bash Vettel about this. He made a mistake. He's not the first driver to make an error in such circumstances.
Why wouldn't this race have meant much to Vettel? That's a load of rubbish if ever I heard any. |

I don't think we should be too hard on him - or anyone in a race like that. Other people tripped over each other too - and Schumacher famously went into the back of Coulthard didn't he.
I too felt that Hamilton did a lot of bunching maneuvers - and the cynical side of me wondered if it was to out-psych Alonso or to perhaps cause difficulties further back. Still, it was a good drive from him. Really enjoyed the Massa/Kubica scrap at the end too |

Hamilton not only owes Vettel a beer for punting Alonso he owes him a beer for punting Webber as Webber was quicker than Hamilton up until the safety car, seems Vettel might get a couple punches from MW and Alonso and a couple of beer's from Lewis.

So, the issue between Webber and Vettel was completely different. As to whether Hamilton was indirectly a cause of the issue is a moot point. Any other driver in the lead always backs up the pack in order to ensure maximum acceleration out of the last corner and to catch the trailing drivers napping, to a certain extent. |

Wasn't TGF put out of Monaco a few years back after a collision in the tunnel while behind the safety car?

NOT HAPPY JAN!!!
Vettel needs to learn a thing or two after spinning Alonso and then ramming Mark. Mark had every right for showing his emotion and I bet Mr Matricish (spelling) will be having a word to Seb. This whole incident kind of overshadows the points gain (which are normally great in other circumstances) by DC and Luizzi. |

Another F1 rule is that a percentage of incidents must involve Mark Webber.

How many race starts has Vettel had? How many F1 re-starts has Vettel had? How many laps in the wet (testing or racing) has Vettel had? Webber's point, eloquently put as it was, stands. These kids look the ducks nuts when they are pushing at 110% if it all hangs together but they simply don't have the experience and do some really, REALLY naff things.... Vettel is not the worse one out there but lets hope he learnt his lesson today. Despite his huge stuff up ppl are still saying what a great weekend it was for Vettel... that is why the race RESULT doesn't matter when you are 19 and have the world at your feet. Q8, lead a lap, running 3 when crashed out in difficult circumstances... that is what the history books will say. |

10 place penalty for the Chinese GP
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/62896 WTF? Oh I get it, Lewis is completely innocent and perfect in every way and it's the youngster rookie who gets the blame Why bother? He's in a Toro Rosso - surely that's punishment alone |

I think it was a simple case of inexperience, particularly in wet races - the more experienced drivers know that when the leader effectively takes over as the safety car, the pack will be back up, that's why we don't see them all running into each other. It looks to me as if Vettel was caught out by it - bad luck for both him and Webber, because they were both driving well, but these things do happen. |

I think a penalty is the right decision - it was an avoidable incident and those are the collisions that drivers are supposed to be punished for. As a general rule, when one driver hits the back of another it's the driver behind who is considered to bear the majority of the responsibility - Vettel basically admitted that he was paying more attention to Hamilton than the guy directly in front, and that's how it happened. I don't think we'll be seeing him make that mistake again...

Webber - what goes around comes around?
With MW having such bad luck in F1 ,when he is always putting in a great drive something happens and especially this latest incident where he was assured a podium and possiblly get a win, could the philosiphy of what goes around comes around apply and Mark have a great season in F1?

Vettel finishing 22nd instead of 19th won't help Webber win a Grand Prix...

As Vettel has been penalised 10 grid positions for the Chinese GP, Hamilton should be stripped of his points in this race for his dangerous driving.
I wonder if MW was refering to more then one person when talking about kids in racing cars? |
