Delbert should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If anyone is still interested in Toj 3 litres I may be able to shed a bit of light on them. The man who knows all about them is a chap called Guido Enderle - he owned 3 of the 3.0l chassis until recently. one has gone to a Frenchman, one to an Englishman & he still retains one.

SC304-10-76

The September 2010 issue of Classic & Sports Car has an advert on page 251 for this car. Also advertised in Autosport 15-7-10. Said to be the first DFV-powered Toj.

I had a chat with the vendor. It is a major rebuild project from the same source as mine. I don't think they have done anything to the box of bits yet so it is quite an understaking - I know from personal experience (ie BBS no longer make or want to make the wheels so we are having to make our own mould and cast the centres ourselves. All this means that she wont be ready for the Paul Ricard CER race this year (which is a shame as it was the scene of one oher best performances againt the orks Alfa's).
Fingers crossed we should be ready for the beginning of next season!

Just an update - in case anyone reading this and has bought the other 3.0l chassis'.
We now have mould/buck for making BBS replica wheels and would be prepared to offer its use (to recoup some of the expenditure).
We have also had the upright moulds done (rears done & fronts in process).
Car is progressing but it is taking time and money! Hard to build from a box of bits with no other 3.0l cars to look at. Hope to go testing in the Spring.

I believe a 2nd Toj 3.0l car is heading back to the UK for rebuild. so there should be a few more Gold cars racing in due course.

Car is now finished and had our first test at Donington. Did a trouble free 80 laps with some decent times for a first outing. It is awesome! Looking forwards to CER Imola now.

You can ask Jorg himself about the history of the car. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I have been a fan of the Toj marque for many years, since I saw the late Jo Gartner drive one at Brands for the 6 hour in 1981.

Hi Nordic,
I recall this well as I was so impressed by that run at Brands, I had a pal purchase the car to run in Thundersports 1983. Great car, rebuilt initially by Dave Benbow and subsequently by Bob Houghton. We really had little budget, not helped when Rupert Keegan knocked us off at Paddock at Brands in the GP support race 84 (?).
Anyway great car. Went from us to the Walker family who rebuilt it again but lost track after then, shared it with Sean at Oulton Park while resorting.
Don't ask me the chassis number, don't recall.
Such a lovely formula - 320 php, reasonable aeros, reasonable grip, not too light!

Harald Ertl lotus Europa Turbo & Toj

Wondering if anyone has any info about Harald Ertl using a a Toj Sportscar chassis for his 1979 Lotus Elan Turbo project, a chassis type and or number would be of particular interest to readers of a forth coming blog, relevant contributions will be credited.

Thanking you in anticipation of your responses.

Hi,
I've just joined the forum as I own a TOJ sports racing car, one of Obermoser's finest and was wondering if anyone has the contact details of Guido Enderle. I would really appreciate any help with this

It seems that Toj's are making a real and successful come back.

Grant Tromans has finished his '76 3.0l car and has advertised it for sale. A pity it has gone up for sale without seeing a race.

There were two at CER Barcelona - sadly the 2.0l car lost its rear wing at top speed down the straight which then flung him in to the wall. Thankfully not to much damage and the driver was fine

I think there are several in the USA in various stages of re-build

Could be that even more come out to plat for 2014

Hi to everyone,

does anyone has some period pictures of the Le Mans 1978 car ?

If you have the engine bay, radiators or anything, this would be welcome !

As said earlier, TOJ cars are getting interest from a lot of people and as we have some of them in CER, I would like to get some period information about them.

Best, Louis.

Louis
I did send some photos in with my application for 2012 Classic Le Mans. Only body shots I am afraid.
I believe a 3.0L broke during qualifying so never actually raced. As such I was not offered a slot for my 3.0l Toj. I would be delighted if you are re-looking at the eligibility of 3.0l Tojs.
All the best

Would there be any interest in creating an Historic Chassis archive (a la Chevron & Lola)?

Always a difficult one with various owners claiming similar chassis numbers. Still better to have everything in one place me thinks

Hi,
I've just been reading various forums about the TOJ sportscar and thought members would be interested in the 206 that I own. I bought the car from Horst Deutsch in 1998, he had owned the car for 20 years and I believe he was the first owner of the car. We've campaigned the car for many years in Europe and England, and would welcome any questions about the TOJ marque
