Great start of the season for Grosjean. Wonder if there's any chance he can repeat what he did in his fist GP2 Asia race weekend and win tomorrow. Also great drive by Kobayashi to get to 8th even if some people fell off the road in front of him.

Race 2 is underway and terrible starts for Kobayashi from pole and Maldonado, both seemed to get swamped off the line!
Mortara leads from D'Ambrosio and Grosjean after 3 laps. |

Grosjean made short work of Jerome but Mortara is doing an outstanding job at the moment....
Van De Garde is 4th; Filippi 5th; Kobayashi 6th and Petrov 7th. Great battle shaping up behind for 8th; Hulk-Perez-Maldonado..... That'll be interesting! EDIT: Sergio's just blown it by spinning into the chicane!!!! |

I hate whoever put this on Setanta. The internet feeds are no good.
Any live timing about? |

Mortara is holding Grosjean off but surely Romain will pass him eventually...
Mortara was dirty at the start, edging d'Ambrosio onto the grass, but unfortunately they all do it these days. |

http://gp2series.com/en/website/2009.../home/homegp2/ There is "Live Comment" on the left hand side, which is updated every 30 secs or so by their webmaster... no live timing that I know of.
I thought the Popular stream was fine yesterday despite being in a different language - perfectly watchable here. |

Indeed! Silly mistake but he was getting bit fed up stuck behind Hulk and Pastor was asserting some pressure I think?
Nice gaffe from Zuber just now as well, threw it straight off the road having just overtaken someone on the inside of T5? Reckon Grosjean's got a job on here with Edoardo? Last edited by chunterer; 10 May 2009 at 09:26. |

Yes, Edoardo is being very resistant and Grosjean hasn't got as close as d'Ambrosio did earlier on.

Put Mortara under enough pressure and he WILL make a mistake. Just look at Macau last year....

Maybe Mortara will be too defensive and take them both off?
Who's the cork further back as some quick cars are dropping too far back? Ahh, Filippi by looks of it? Hulkenberg smoky? |

The ART'S need to get a shift on, Petrov's gone into 'trance' mode and doing nothing to get by Filippi.....
Almost as I speak, Pastor appears to have been let by by Nico? |

Huh, Petrov just folded under pressure from Pastor it seemed?
How long before Maldonado gets past Luca? Mind you, Hulk looking bit aggressive again now!!! |

Yes, nice textbook move by Maldonado on Filippi into at the end of the back straight.

Dreadful stuff!!! Great drive from Edoardo Mortara it has to be said!! |

Hulk should have dive-bombed Filippi aswell as soon as he could. Shame Nunes tagged him.
Well Done Mortara! He clung on long enough for Romain to wreck his tyres. Good Race! |

Excellent stuff from Mortara, but again impressive from Grosjean coming through from eighth to get up to second, oh so close to a perfect weekend from him.
Will definitely have given Piquet something to think about. |

Yes, I agree. Nico a tad careful perhaps? After Maldonado went by he didn't seem sure whether to push or drive for a 'result'. I suspect he found Maldonado's pace and moves quite interesting!!
Mortara's strong result and to a lesser extent Perez' with early pace seems to suggest Arden are going to be truly competitive this season? |
