[random Englishman's comment]I like Shane Warne. He's a prat. Of that there is no doubt, but since when does that mean you shouldn't present Top Gear?[/Pomme observation over]
Has Duckworth Lewis Method's Jiggery Pokery had any air time down under? |

He's a Channel 9 personality. Getting one of those on board is kinda how 9 do things. They feel it isn't one of their shows until its run by a network personality or stuffed full of cross-promotional in-house celebrities.

Channel nine's money could be better spent by showing 2 episodes of Top Gear UK back to back each week, ad free!
Alot cheaper and higher ratings I bet. |

They won't make any money by showing them ad-free though!
Anyway, they gotta have proper car enthusiast hosts. Not bogan "car enthusiasts" who think it's fun to do a burnout when they drive their Ferrari to coles... |

I agree with an earlier post here about Ch9 looking after its own employees first... look at the Footy Show, look at their sports shows, look at their lifestyle shows... it's a definite case of "jobs for the boys" if you'd pardon the connotation relating to gender reference.
Even if the commentators lack expertise in any particular field, it's a non-issue for the producers at Ch9. |

I suspect if they do that the current presenters are out. I actually thought last season wasn't that bad IMHO. |

I didn't realise anyone thought the australian top gear was any better than garbage. Is it actually worth watching?
edit- should mention this is an honest question, I hadn't heard any comment on the quality of the show since about 2 months after it came out. Bought an aus top gear mag at one point, was so-so. |

WE MUST NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!!
Top Gear UK / Top Gear Aus. has been a roaring success for the team at Herbert St (SBS HQ), now it's moving across the M1 to Artarmon Rd (Ch 9, aka. Ch Eddie?!) The Last Series of TG Aus. wasn't too bad, James Morrison gave it a refreshed look. With it moving to Ch. 9, the show in this country is DOOMED!!! When it returns / starts on Ch. 9, i give it 6 weeks then it's back to SBS. It will be a failure, just like all their other bull****. |

I don't know about Ozzie's driving GTR, no hands and all let alone the fact he finds it hard to see at all.

In a slightly related matter, it was interesting to see '5th Gear' in one of the channel 7 program advertisements during todays V8 telecast
Unless i've missed it i don't think its been seen of FTA before, only on Lifestyle Channel on Foxtel |

What about Bert Newton hosting the show?
Surely we'd be able to get a good family oriented show with reviews from their testers, namely Patty, Lauren and Matthew. It would be logical to think that they would each get paid by Ch9 to give an honest review of each product... much as they already do... |
