I think MRF Formula is a very nice series, but unfortunately the promotion is really really bad. The website(s) and the facebook page still have no content and it seems to be impossible to find the full results of the Chennai races... It is also unclear for me if the two Chennai rounds and the GP support race form a series or if the New Delhi race is a standalone... Some Indian news papers talked about someone (can't remember who) crowned as champion in Chennai, but no points standings have been published anywhere... Good racing, good drivers, nice cars, but extremely confusing series.

Thank you for your interest in the series. I know Jukka, Mikka and Marco value you as a supporter and both the drivers sent reports back to Finland with pictures every evening while in Chennai. I am sorry our web presence is not very good; but we did have great TV and press coverage in India. All the races and build up were live on Neo Sports. News reports and race highlights on NDTV and CNBC The Hindu is the best well known broadsheet in India. Please remember this is a national series. Please feel free to message me any time. |

I was a bit harsh about the promotion. All the TV I've seen online have been very professional and I'm sure the live coverage was just as good.
I've understood that Jukka and Miikka were impressed about the quality of cars and event organization as well as the pace of local competitors. So I think you are doing a great job. And yes, I understood it's a national series, but when you have international competitors, you also have some international interest – and racing fans in Europe have used to online results and all sorts of web content... 1) Is there a three event series/championship (2xChennai + F1 support)? 2) if not, where the two Chennai rounds a series or two stand alone events? 3) If there is a three meeting series, what are the points standings after two events? 4) If the two races where a series of their own (as some sources suggest), what where the final standigs? |

I agree with Valker, here even club series aimed at hobby competitors almost all have a dedicated website listing race results, point standings etc.
A website, even if it only hosts such basic essentials, really is a must in this day and age. It can only help to promote the series in India and to potential competitors abroad. |

Ok, here comes some questions:
1) Is there a three event series/championship (2xChennai + F1 support)? We had 6 races over two weekends in Chennai; these races were not championship rounds. 2) if not, where the two Chennai rounds a series or two stand alone events? Yes. The Chennai races were a series and not a championship 3) If there is a three meeting series, what are the points standings after two events? No official points were awarded and Ashwin Sundar was the winner of the series. 4) If the two races where a series of their own (as some sources suggest), what where the final standigs? The Championship and the prize money will be awarded for the two New Delhi races at the 'Buddh International Circuit' |

I think you have a good, interesting series, and deserve credit for attracting drivers from abroad to take part. It's just frustrating that outside of India, if we don't have access to your TV or news sources, it's very hard to find out any information about Formula MRF. I think you should look into doing a website, even if it's just a home-made affair listing all the results and point standings, and explaining the basics of the championship (like which rounds count for points, race format etc).
Just wondering, if no points were awarded in this series, how do you determine the winner? Purely on the number of wins? |

Points were awarded for the series. A website for the Championship Races at the Buddh International Series will be online soon.

The MRF drivers will be attending a 'shake down' test in Chennai between 20th - 24th September to prepare for the Indian Grand Prix support races at the end of October.

I saw the Mäkeläs last weekend in Finnish championship racing finals. I heard Miikka is one of the drivers who will do the 3 day "shakedown" test and will race in New Delhi. I hope Honkavuori will be there too.

I know with enough time, we all find what we're looking for. But who is pouring money in these series?

No entry list released so far but there should be 20 cars in the grid: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/s...w/10334544.cms
8 Indians (Vikash Anand, Gaurav Gill, Ameya Walawalkar, Ashwin Sundar, ???), 7 Brits (Jordan King, ???), 2 Finns (Jukka Honkavuori, Miikka Mäkelä), 1 Iranian and 2 more. Does anyone know the 13 missing names or at least some of them? According to an other article, there should be French driver(s) too: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/s...w/10084634.cms |

The Brits include a few of those who've been in the FR 2.0 UK series this year. I think Jordan King is correct. Alice Powell is also in - she's been tweeting about it.

...Kourosh Khani must be the Iranian driver, right? Can't think anyone else. The Frenchman is most likely Philippe Layac who tested in Chennai in September and if couple of Indian drivers who ran in Chennai series will return, the entry list would be something like this:
Vikash Anand Gaurav Gill Ameya Walawalkar Ashwin Sundar Zaamin Jaffer IND (Arjun Balu?) IND (Karthik Shankar?) IND Jordan King Alice Powell James Thorp GBR GBR GBR GBR Jukka Honkavuori Miikka Mäkelä IRI (Kourosh Khani?) FRA (Philippe Layac?) ??? |

But the question is, will anyone want to say how much is paying? It is seems a well funded racing series.

Good Alex. It's good to always strive for more. But the prize money is fat, isn't it?
