JR almost crashed into the safety car coming out of pits while illegal overtaking under yellow, then almost wrecked Simona under yellow and now this.

Was the TV coverage good? I live over here so had to get a feed.

I don't know why anyone thought the Nerf bars would prevent cars climbing over each other? If the DW12 were flat bottomed, it would really have taken off.

Loads of empty seats on overhead shots. Main grandstand was perhaps 60% full, turn 1 looked full but that stand is tiny. Weather was crappy so I guess they had an excuse

TV Ratings of course are the big issue though.

First 80 laps sucked with all that yellow but the ending had me on the edge of my seat. Good racing.

I missed the prerace, the start, and the celebration. I also missed the audio, because at the restaurant they played soft pop music. But I was missing IndyCar, I'm happy that the season has started so well

Great win by Hinch, he deserved one and he fought hard for this. Hélio was close at the end, but missed it at a restart. Anyway, he's up to fight the title, so I'm very ahppy. Simona didn't get the podium, but raced very well. Power was unlucky with the traffic jam, this can cost him a lot.

I hope that Franchitti and Dixon race better the next races. I root for Penske, so winning over Ganassi and Andretti is better!

Dixon said they had a problem with the waste gate on his Honda engine and as for Franchitti maybe his tyres weren't quite up to racing temp and he just didn't have enough grip and ran wide.

It's early days yet.

I've seen this happen before, with a top team going off the boil and getting a worse start than in the previous season.

Ganassi will be fine. Dixon did a powerful job so the potential for Ganassi 2013 is there.
