While the ex-mayor might have been Chairman of the "Redevelopment Board", I'm sure there is still a will in the ICC to pursue further investment in the Motorsport Precinct.
But the silence from ICC since the departure of Mr White would certainly lead you to the impression it was only ever a kite flying exercise. I hope I am wrong. |

Yep, you have to admire John Tetley for being prepared to spell out the goings-on behind the scenes.

I'm disappointed to read that, but considering recent developments it doesn't totally surprise me.

One thing in the statement that caught me by surprise was that: "Another industry mogul has commence building a track on the central coast of NSW". Does anyone know further on this? |

Yep, could be CASAR park as well Pecky - with JT's reference to a "mogul" building a track, it sounded more like Italia to me but could be either. |

A few errors in that story - Motorsport Queensland Pty Ltd was wound up long ago when they went bust after not being able to repay the construction loans from the Qld Government. Ipswich City Council inherited the precinct from Moreton Shire Council who had it gifted to them by the Federal Government (I think ?).

Plus reference to the operators having run their venues for 20 years when the drag strip has been operating since 1985 (32 years now)

Broken first aid equipment and insufficient number of fire extinguishers according to a former paramedic who was one of the first responders. Certainly not good.

Another reason, not to participate at this circuit and Lakeside, Just more $$$$, why let cars onto racing circuits, that are not built for racing There is a few ppl posting on all forms of social media to support racing at this venue. Problem is, it is not racing, it is money for the owner who hires it out. If it was racing, there would be required safety: Roll cages Fire Bombs Racing Harness Scrutineering to ensure it meet all safety guides Fully maned points for safety the list is endless, but hey that cost money Let any anyone who pays run, |
