I don't agree it would be underwhelming. An engine failure is a pretty dramatic and obvious failure. Apart from that, there may have been a lot of unknown (to the general public) small failures/inconveniences that were far less dramatic and not race-ending, but may have cost may points - for either driver.
I think you don't become a champion by luck alone. Especially not in these days of super-reliability. At this moment both have 9 times. Not all of these 9 wins have come from luck alone. And that's equally true for Lewis' 9 wins. Nico qualified in the top 2 for every single event, and assuming Lewis wins tomorrow he has just a single race wins less than Lewis, so he must have done something right? I can't call that underwhelming. |

I'm usually rooting for Hamilton, but right now I'd be happy for Rosberg to win it. He's the Prost to Lewis' Senna, and it'd be nice to see that approach work out once in a while. And besides, having Keke be a champion and not Nico just doesn't seem right.

Yes Nico speaks five languages, as a racer he leaves me a little cold to be honest.. Lewis will always spank him when it comes down to raw racing ability.

A clean start, though Verstappen loses it and spins but not out of the race. Otherwise the Mercs are running like a stern with Lewis in front.

That was a gutsy move by Nico, something one doesn't always see.

Red Bull absolutely crushing Ferrari on the tactics side yet again. Ferrari really needs to sort their stuff out for next year.

I'm not much of a fan of Lewis or Nico to be honest, however if Rosberg is champ, I think it will be because Lewis had a series of failures over the year whereas Rosberg hasnt had (m)any.

Close finish.
Hamilton should slow down so Verstappen and Vettel bump on Rosberg. |

Lewis did all he could. Think the team should have butted out.......If Nico was faster, why didn't he overtake?
Good of Vettel to spice it up. Excellent recovery by Max, of course. |

Mercedes are creating far too much fuss over we potentially losing this race. They were going to win both titles anyway, and even if Ferrari won the race then nobody would remember by tomorrow. Let the drivers fight it out. Very odd.
Anyway, funny race by red bull. All cocky before it saying they were going to take the fight to Mercedes yet they couldn't even best Ferrari. Glad Rosberg won the title. Lewis is a better driver but it's nice to have something different. |

I have never hid my dislike for Hamilton, having initially thought that he was a breath of fresh air, but his performance today was a new low. And I don't think that he impressed his bosses, either. Especially after his comments on Thursday about the change around in personnel at the beginning of this year. Maybe Rosberg did luck into this championship, but he has been pretty steady (apart from a couple of incidents) and consistent throughout the season. And if this knocks Hamilton down a peg or two, so much the better. |
