The answer to the question is Iceland. I know this is a road car forum but... The offroad specials that the Icelander build and race are the most fantastic vehicle that I know of full stop.

Germany is the world epicentre of engineering excellence. And it's a nice country. So I voted for that.

And the SL55 AMG, bien sur.

I guess I'd better come clean - I drive a Hyundai. The engineering is about on a par with my driving skill.
But we can all dream. And I dream Italian supercars.

Australia I love Falcons, always have, always will. Us Aussies are best at brutish V8's. As a Ford fan, I must admit Monaro is bloody nice too - 8/10

Germany Porsche 911, Audi TT, BMW M3, need I say any more? The clear winner for me - 9/10

Italy Don't shoot me, but I've never been a massive fan of Italian cars. There are some lovely Maserati's out there at the moment, and I love the Lambo Muira, but I've never been a Ferrari man (I blame F1 for that ). Undoubtably very fine vehicles. Actually come to think of it, I love Alfa Romeo's... - 8/10

Japan The Japs are up there with the best in the medium price sportscar sector, with the WRX, S2000, Skyline , Evos, Skyline etc, but they really do lack a Ferrari-beater at the moment, as the NSX is becoming a little long in the tooth - 7.5/10

UK Second only to German built cars for me, I'd have a Lotus, TVR MG, Aston, Jaguar anyday. Just beautiful machines - 8.5/10

USA They produce some of the most awful looking vechiles in the world. The Monaro derived Pontiac was terrible - 5/10

Other Russia wins hands down with the Lada Niva

So it's Germany for me

Garcon we like to win.

And blame the Brits for the convicts...

Most of the cars that end up on the back of a tow truck here from breaking down are from Europe or the UK......

LONG LIVE THE AUSSIE V8..

And to you too..

Here are the correct answers:
1 Germany (Porsche, really)
big gap
2. Italy
small gap
3. U.K.
small gap
4. USA
big gap
5. Australia
very big gap
6. Japan (they got it right on paper, but there's no soul)

Well, in my world the correct answers are:

1 Italy (Pagani Zonda, Lambo)
fairly big gap
2 Gernmany (Porsche 911)
big gap
3 UK (McLaren F1 - say no more)
BIG gap
4 Japan (Nismo, STi etc - though it's worth pointing out that alot of development and tweaking is done in the UK...)
small almost imperceptible gap
5 USA (those glorious V8 lumps thundering round Le Mans)
inter-galactic gap
6 Australia (ok, Holden V8s are interesting...)

That's road cars. We (should) all know that - with the usual rosso exception - the UK is absolutely supreme on track. If it ain't built here, it's designed here.

1. Italy
Actually a surprisingly small gap...
2. UK
Small gap (but then they build different type of cars)
3. Germany
Not all that big a gap either
4. Japan
HUUUGE gap
5. Anything else.

After watching Targa Tasmania and seeing Brocks Monaro only 15sec behind the leading Porche on day 2 (before the team stuffed up by not leaving enough fuel to finish the stage) and then seeing the Monaros charge from 27th outright to 6th outright at the end, I was most impressed.
This car left a lot of so called super cars (911's, EVOs, WRX's, GTR's etc) in its wake (and this was mostly in the wet!!!!!).

Before you say it, there are very few straight roads in Tassie, so it wasn't all straight line speed.

I had to vote for the UK, class, style and power, what more is there to have.

No, not 'Supercars' just'reallygoodcars'
I would reserve the 'Supercars' lable for cars like Lambo's, Ferrari Enzo, F50, F40, Mclaren F1 etc. Evo's, WRX etc don't count as Supercars for me because they are beefed-up ordinary production cars. Having said that, I don't mean to belittle the r&d thats gone into them.....(anyone got a rope to get me out of this hole I dug myselfe....)

It is strange when people talk about the Japanese cars that they only refer to WRX and EVO's. What about the RX7 and the Supra or even the 200SX. Japan have a great range of so-called warmed up sports cars.
