The simple answers: No, I'm not going (going to be at Lydden on Saturday). Yes I'm looking forward to the new season (can't wait for the Lydden rounds - 2 weeks to go!). Should be good, I just hope they can find somewhere to run the rounds that were scheduled for wildtracks. I'll be at all the Lydden rounds (MSA and Clubmans), Brands is a definite, I might make the Mondello rounds if the finances are looking ok later in the year. Wildtracks would have been easy as well as it's only a couple of hours away. Anyway, hope you have a great weekend all of you that are going. Don't forget to give us the inside gosip when you get home from the meetings.... |

I'll be there.....really looking forward to it, especially interested to see how these foreign supernational boys do against our modified drivers......and Eamon McAleenan's 6R4 engined Peugeot 306 supercar, maybe a modern looking car that actually sounds like a racing car!!

ill be there too... been far too long a wait for me since Brands Hatch last year.
I m looking forward to seeing the swedes in the Volvos, think it will be the first time ive seen a volvo race, apart from maybe TOCA. Im a little bit dissapointed about the Super car entry as it looked promising at the end of last year with supercar entries nearly into double figures. Will give me chance to test out my new camera too...hope it works.... see you all there Mike |

I hope the supercar entry picks up for Lydden though, otherwise it's a fairly thin looking field. |

I don't think he'll do the whole season.......he only did Nutts/Mondello rounds last year. I've never seen the car in the flesh....only pictures, but it looks a bit like Andy Burton's Peugeot 306 Cosworth rallycar.
I think people actually refer to the car as a 306R4! |

I'm pretty sure that the Supercar entry will be much better at Lydden but the thing i'm worried about is that there are only 5 drivers actually committed to the championship.
With possibly only nine rounds on the calender now, missing 2 rounds is almost a quarter of the championship. With the drivers probably only allowed to drop 1 score, the overall series will pretty much be narrowed down to the drivers that compete this weekend. I hope that someone buys Holfeld's Escort because in the right hands, it's as quick as anything out there. They'll just need deep pockets for the inevitable differential and engine failures that have seemed to be the norm with the car ever since Squibb first built it. |

I think the championship will pretty much be between those 5 drivers anyway - the others either aren't quick enough or aren't reliable enough (and I have doubts about Dorans reliability too!). It's always good to have a crowd of supercars though, they really are spectacular to watch.
Totally agree about the Holfeld escort - rapid but fragile, I hope someone snaps it up asap. |

Manning had engine problems last day out in mondello (15th of Feb), on the rallycross A final the car was like a rocket untill the last lap were it started to misfire badly.
I presume its an engine jobby |

I guessed it might be something like that, that car is another one that's quick when it's running but too often breaks at the critical moment. |

Ouch! That sounds like it was a very expensive weekend for some people, I hope everyone can get their cars back together for Lydden in a couple of weeks time.
Even with all the carnage it's the usual suspects that came out on top though. |

Sorry to hear about Des Wheatley - when I was talking to him yesterday he was hoping that he would be ok for the next round - I guess the damage was worse than they thought

Des rolled the car at Lydden last year and still made it out for the final it seems that his luck was worse this time with a roll and blow up. Really bad luck, I hope that he can get the car back up and running ok. (Same goes for the others that had problems)
