maybe it is best to leave the TV work for the "National Formulas" - we don't want FF1600 to get too popular after they watch all the slipstreaming and overtaking we do!!

if you record at MSV circuits dont you have to sign a disclaimer saying you wont broadcast it on internet, satellite or terrestrial.if you do you have to give them £25K.

Is there still room on the entry, I appear to have found some time and cash and the last Oulton round seems a good way to spend it

The Costs etc.
OK, I've now spoken to Mike Jones, and this is how it works.
For the day, including your own copy of the days happenings on VHS or DVD, there is his fee to be divided by the number of drivers willing to partake. This is £500 and includes 4 on board cameras, plus they can do 2 trackside cameras themselves. For an extra £250, they can contract in a Sky type cameraman / interviewer friend of theirs for additional trackside filming and paddock shots, interviews etc. This means we are looking at £750 divided by however many. Assuming we have 30 drivers take it up, that is £25 per head. As the entry will be in the region of forty plus cars, this figure should be less, but for now we'll say £25. 16 cars will carry a camera during the day, 4 in each qualifying session and 4 in each race mixed between the front, midfield and tail end drivers - to get a decent mix. As a matter of interest - noting previous replies - doing this is allowed by MSV for non web, or satellite / terrestrial broadcasting purposes. So we can't stick clips on here, clubff1600 etc. If we did, both the website involved and the producers would be liable to pay £25k each to MSV. So bring your £25 with you on September 18th. |

Sounds good, count me in Diz. Im sure everyone else will be up for it as well as it will be good to be able to watch a race that you are in from another angle.

Diz can you find out how much extra it is to have a camera for the day or do they only have a few.

He said they have four cameras, so I assume that is how many they've got. It is better to fit them to 16 cars during the meeting. Saves it being a Blue, Red and Sideways show and adds variety.

It has been pointed out to me that when cameras are switched between cars for each session, cars will have to be re-scrutineered...

When I used a camera I always needed a seperate scrutineers ticket but to get the ticket you need a permision slip from the circuit owners.

I believe that is also correct BN. But scrutineering will have to be carried out with camera in situ, which will mean some cars will need to be done more than once.
