Junior could only learn from Seton, so if i was him i'd keep my mouth shut and eyes and ears wide open. If he doesn't then his career may be over. I think he is a good driver but needs to learn a few things yet to become a No. 1.

He's playing mind games - apparently he has an empathy for some 47 staff and so he's looking for the best fit for his conglomerate.

I hear that some FPR staff are following Glenn to DJR. Talk of a person formerly associated with Glenn may also move to the team, but i can't see it happening.

How many of Glenn's old GSR staff members are still at FPR??

You make a good point!! How many FPR staff members will follow both Lowndes to 888 & Seto to DJR???

This has some pretty big waves coming from this.

*FPR need a "name" driver, so the Tanders and Radisich's have some leverage in contract negotiations.Maybe a chance for Owen Kelly to get back into the Ford "Factory" team?

*This move finalises a few sponsor splits that could have been easily reversed in my eyes, with Mobil and Bridgestone.

*JNR is now not a clear #1 for the first time since he got the full time drive. Will he handle it?

*Personally, any rifts between Ford, Shell and Dick will now be pretty easily sanded over, as they have the Ford icons of both the 80's and 90's in the one shed.

*As pointed out, the staff movements will have a pretty big impact. I still see plenty of HP in the DJR cars, and some setup improvements will only increase their worth.

One trained on his face as he calls it a "barsted" on corner exits ala Winton 2001(?) would be greatly entertaining.

DJR cars are usually quick in first practice (not sure if this is from the freshest set of used tyres or not) but the cars fall down the order in subsequent sessions...

Depending on what perspective you take on the team, there is a suggestion that the engineering talent isnt exactly thin on the ground at DJR, but more that there is a mismatch between the driving input and the car setup..

Mr Seton will change that, he doesnt have to learn how to drive a Supercar, unlike Radisich, Jr, Wilson, Luff etc etc and can give them a demon setup reasonably quickly.

Quite how Mr Seton will go knowing he has to drive for a full session because the engine will likely survive the whole time without detonating will be fun to watch

It could be the masterstroke of 2005....

I'd love to see the Glenn Seton of old in 2005. Imagine a wet 2005 Bathurst.

You mustn't have seen Glenn giving it to the Skyline over the top of the hill in the rain.

Old man DJ looks in great shape side by side.

Hey -I've got a marketing coup for FORD (since they never have any of there own) how about DJ's last Bathurst again !!! Brock v Johnson- hell even Bondy & Moff could turn up ! Geri Racing - How's that for excitement !

That is completely impossible to know!!!! As at the time, the only way they know what your lap time was, is someone at the start/finish line with a stop watch... And that did not happen every lap for every car for 161 laps!!!!

I cant see what all the hype over seton is about, he's no better than most of the blokes his age in the field.

Am I the only one who has noticed the Super Cheap/Shell ads featuring Dick and the competition to win one of his road cars??????????

But I guess they had a Castrol competition a while ago where you could win a Castrol road Commodore??

Not correct... RaceTime Computing recorded every lap of each of the cars in that field... in the days before the internet and high tech computers....

I wonder if the Commodore 64 can be cranked up to get a lap chart out of it?

FTR was an underfunded extension of the old GSR... Ford Credit Racing was the same kinda thing... FPR remain a joke... (even Seto called the engines a disaster on Panelbeaters!)....

Seto can drive... he will do well... lets just wait and see
